Robust Sliding Mode Control for Flexible Joint Robotic Manipulator via Disturbance Observer [PDF]

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Description of Complex Systems, 2019
In a flexible joint robotic manipulator, parametric variations and external disturbances result in mismatch uncertainties thus posing a great challenge in terms of manipulator’s control. This article investigates non-linear control algorithms for desired

The sliding hinge joint moment connection

open access: yesBulletin of the New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering, 2010
A new friction moment joint for steel framed structures is described. It has a similar cost to conventional construction and is designed such that there is negligible damage to the frame or slabs. Experimental testing shows that steel, brass or aluminium shims can provide satisfactory friction resistance and that there is almost no damage to the frame ...

Supporting Survivor‐Centered Care Through Digital Health Integration

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Survivors of childhood cancer face barriers to receiving guideline‐based, long‐term follow‐up care. Two digital tools, Passport for Care (PFC) and Cancer SurvivorLink (SurvivorLink), address complementary gaps by enabling tailored survivorship care plan (SCP) generation, updating, storage, and sharing.

Static Stability Analysis of a Planar Object Grasped by Multifingers with Three Joints

open access: yesRobotics, 2015
This paper discusses static stability of a planar object grasped by multifingers with three joints. Each individual joint (prismatic joint or revolute joint) is modeled as a linear spring stiffness.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Friction Observer and Compensation for Control of Robots with Joint Torque Measurement

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper we introduce a friction observer for robots with joint torque sensing (in particular for the DLR medical robot) in order to increase the positioning accuracy and the performance of torque control.

From species to cultivar: Soybean cultivar recognition using joint leaf image patterns by multiscale sliding chord matching

open access: yes, 2020
Leaf image recognition has been actively researched for plant species identification. However, it remains unclear whether leaf patterns can provide sufficient information for cultivar recognition.

High current density, cryogenically cooled sliding electrical joint development [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
In the past two years, conceptual designs for fusion energy research devices have focussed on compact, high magnetic field configurations. The concept of sliding electrical joints in the large magnets allows a number of technical advantages including ...
