Design of Sliding Mode Indicator

2007 American Control Conference, 2007
A scheme of the sliding mode (SM) indicator to detect the boundary existence of the sliding mode for a thermal control system is proposed. The derived sliding mode control algorithm is supposed improve the control performance of such an important characteristic of the system as the thermal field of the oven.

Approximability of Sliding Modes and Regularization

International Workshop on Variable Structure Systems, 2006. VSS'06., 2006
Approximability of sliding motions for control systems governed by nonlinear finite-dimensional differential equations is considered. This regularity property is shown to be equivalent to Tikhonov well-posedness of a related minimisation problem in the context of relaxed controls.

Weighted sliding mode control

2016 American Control Conference (ACC), 2016
This paper presents a design method for controlling multiple sliding surfaces of nonlinear systems with matched uncertainty using a single actuator. Sliding mode control, in general, requires one actuator for every control objective. Compared to the vast literature on sliding mode control, there has been little work on general theories that can be ...

Sliding Empirical Mode Decomposition

The 2010 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN), 2010
Biomedical signals are in general non-linear and non-stationary which renders them difficult to analyze with classical time series analysis techniques. Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) in conjunction with a Hilbert spectral transform, together called Hilbert-Huang Transform, is ideally suited to extract informative components which are characteristic

Sliding Mode Servomechanism Design

2006 IEEE International Conference on Control Applications, 2006
In this paper, a frequency-shaped optimal sliding mode approach combined with Lyapunov based backstepping design is presented to solve the robust servomechanism problem. The parametric uncertainties, unmodeled dynamics and uncertain exogenous disturbance belonging to a specified class are attenuated by using compensator dynamics introduced in sliding ...

Sliding-mode repetitive learning control with integral sliding-mode perturbation compensation

ISA Transactions, 2009
This paper proposes a sliding-mode repetitive learning control (SMRLC) scheme with an integral sliding-mode perturbation observer (ISMPO) for repetitive tracking control tasks. The three control strategies which are synthesized to yield excellent tracking performance are: (1) the pole-placement feedback control to specify the desired error dynamics; (2)

Sliding-Mode Control Variations

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2007
The purpose of this paper is to present a framework in which high-order control variations are employed in sliding mode control to modify the sliding dynamics and/or reduce the dimension of the sliding surface. Control variations are implemented as sampled data feedback controllers with the variations generated during the sample intervals.

Sliding mode and adaptive sliding‐mode control of a class of nonlinear bioprocesses

International Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, 2007
AbstractThis work deals with some sliding mode (SM) and adaptive sliding‐mode control (SMC) strategies for a class of nonlinear biotechnological processes. First, a dynamical SM‐based feedback strategy is designed in order to ensure the asymptotic output stabilization of nonlinear bioprocesses.

Sliding order and sliding accuracy in sliding mode control

International Journal of Control, 1993
The synthesis of a control algorithm that stirs a nonlinear system to a given manifold and keeps it within this constraint is considered. Usually, what is called sliding mode is employed in such synthesis. This sliding mode is characterized, in practice, by a high-frequency switching of the control.

Sliding mode control for LPV systems

2016 American Control Conference (ACC), 2016
LPV models are extremely appealing, as they allow describing the dynamics of many physical systems that are of interest in various engineering applications. For such systems, dedicated control approaches have been proposed, which rely on the measurement of the scheduling variables and exploit such information for improving the closed-loop performance ...
