LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Robust position control of ultrasonic motor using VSS observer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Intrinsic properties of ultrasonic motor (high torque for low speed, high static torque, compact in size, etc.) offer great advantages for industrial applications. However, when load torque is applied, dead-zone occurs in control input.

Sliding mode control for a phase field system related to tumor growth

open access: yes, 2017
In the present contribution we study the sliding mode control (SMC) problem for a diffuse interface tumor growth model coupling a viscous Cahn-Hilliard type equation for the phase variable with a reaction-diffusion equation for the nutrient.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Adaptive Sliding Mode Controller for Servo Actuator System with Friction

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2017
This paper addresses the use of adaptive sliding mode control for the servo actuator system with friction. The adaptive sliding mode control has several advantages over traditional sliding mode control method.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Application of moving sliding mode control for a DC motor driven four-bar mechanism

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2018
The angular velocity of the input link of a mechanism fluctuates due to the inertia of links and the external forces, although it is generally assumed constant in design.

Analysis of explicit and implicit discrete-time equivalent-control based sliding mode controllers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Different time-discretization methods for equivalent-control based sliding mode control (ECB-SMC) are presented. A new discrete-time sliding mode control scheme is proposed for linear time-invariant (LTI) systems.

Sliding mode robot control with friction and payload estimation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The paper deals with robust motion control of robotic systems with unknown friction parameters and payload mass. The parameters of the robot arm were considered known with a given precision.
