Sliding mode observers for automotive applications
Proceeding of the 1996 IEEE International Conference on Control Applications IEEE International Conference on Control Applications held together with IEEE International Symposium on Intelligent Control IEEE International Symposium on Computer-Aided Contro, 2002In this paper observers based on sliding modes are designed for the use with nontraditional control algorithms for an automotive alternator with a rectifier. The innovative control algorithms of the rectifier require measurements of the alternator's EMF (electromotive force), which is not accessible directly.

Sliding mode observer for fluid flow
2017 IEEE Conference on Control Technology and Applications (CCTA), 2017Many phenomena in science and engineering are described using partial differential equations. However, for the systems modeled by PDEs, having access to the states of the system can be challenging due to technical difficulties such as lacking enough sensors in the system. In this paper the problem of estimating the parameters of fluid flow described by

AbstractIn this paper, a generalized augmented transformation is considered for the quarter active suspension system with uncertainties. Specifically, the model uncertainties are converted to the augmented states and a new proportion differential sliding mode observer is used to estimate state variables and model uncertainties. A differential geometric

Sliding Mode Control Based on Observer
2011This chapter introduces the sliding mode control based on several observers. Five kinds of observers are used, including high gain observer, extended state observer, integral-chain differentiator, disturbance observer and delayed output observer.

Sliding mode observers for automotive alternators
Proceedings of the 1999 American Control Conference (Cat. No. 99CH36251), 1999This paper presents the methods for estimating automotive alternator's back electromotive forces without a direct mechanical sensor of the rotor position. It is shown that the back electromotive forces may be observed based on system's phase current model by sensing electrical variables of the synchronous rectifier.

Sliding Mode Observers for Fault Detection
2011This chapter considers sliding modes applied to the problem of observer design. The historical development is outlined leading to the description of a specific class of sliding mode observer which will be used throughout the book. It will be shown how the unique properties associated with the so-called equivalent injection signal necessary to maintain ...

Sliding Mode Observer and Its Applications
2019SMOs have found wide application in the areas of fault detection, fault reconstruction and health monitoring in recent years. Their well-known advantages are robustness and insensitivity to external disturbance. Higher-order SMOs have better performance as compared to classical sliding mode based observers because their output is continuous and does ...

Sliding Mode Observer of PEMFC Systems
2019As mentioned in the general introduction, it is not always possible to use sensors for measurements, either due to prohibitive costs of the sensing technology or because the quantity is not directly measurable. For precise control applications, state observer can be used for obtaining unavailable state values instead of sensors.
