CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Numerical Patterns for Evaluation of the Stability Slope [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
V diplomové práci se řeší numerické modely pro posuzování stability zemních těles. Výpočty byly provedeny metodou konečných prvků pro různé návrhové situace s využitím programového systému ANSYS.

A displacement-based method for evaluating the stability of a pile-stabilized slope

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science
Abstract This study proposes a theoretical model for evaluating the safety factor of a pile-stabilized slope using the monitored displacement of the sliding layer. The stabilizing force provided by the piles was determined using the subgrade reaction method, with the monitored displacement of the sliding layer as the primary input ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Modelling rock slope behaviour and evolution with reference to Northern Spain and Southern Jordan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The geomorphological behaviour of steep jointed rock slopes has been studied using distinct element computer models. In order to model steep slopes effectively, methodologies need to be combined from the studies of environmental modellers ...

Slope stability evaluation using backpropagation neural networks and multivariate adaptive regression splines

open access: yesOpen Geosciences, 2020
Slope stability assessment is a critical concern in construction projects. This study explores the use of multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS) to capture the intrinsic nonlinear and multidimensional relationship among the parameters that are ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Risk assessment model of expansive soil slope stability based on Fuzzy-AHP method and its engineering application

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk, 2018
To systematically evaluate the risk grade of stability of expansive soil slope during construction, the recognition model is established by using the fuzzy recognition theory and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP).
