Is carrot consumption associated with a decreased risk of lung cancer? A meta-analysis of observational studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Findings of epidemiological studies regarding the association between carrot consumption and lung cancer risk remain inconsistent. The present study aimed to summarise the current epidemiological evidence concerning carrot intake and lung cancer risk ...

Long noncoding nature brain-derived neurotrophic factor antisense is associated with poor prognosis and functional regulation in non–small cell lung caner

open access: yesTumor Biology, 2017
In this study, we evaluated the prognostic potential and functional regulation of human nature antisense, brain-derived neurotrophic factor antisense, in non–small cell lung cancer.

Pulmonary pleomorphic carcinoma presenting as undifferentiated non-small cell carcinoma with giant cells: A case report and review of literature

open access: yesRespiratory Medicine Case Reports, 2020
Pulmonary pleomorphic carcinoma (PPC) is a poorly differentiated non-small cell lung carcinoma, including squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, or undifferentiated non-small cell lung carcinoma with at least 10% spindle and/or giant cells.

Plasma lipid biomarker signatures in squamous carcinoma and adenocarcinoma lung cancer patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
There is a clinical need for reliable biomarkers for lung cancer that permit early diagnosis of the disease and provide prediction of histological phenotype.

Inhibitor-sensitive FGFR1 amplification in human non-small cell lung cancer. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Squamous cell lung carcinomas account for approximately 25% of new lung carcinoma cases and 40,000 deaths per year in the United States. Although there are multiple genomically targeted therapies for lung adenocarcinoma, none has yet been reported in ...

Histopathological transformation to small-cell lung carcinoma in non-small cell lung carcinoma tumors [PDF]

open access: yesTranslational Lung Cancer Research, 2016
Lung cancer is the principal cause of cancer-related death worldwide. The use of targeted therapies, especially tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), in specific groups of patients has dramatically improved the prognosis of this disease, although inevitably some patients will develop resistance to these drugs during active treatment.

EGFR mutation testing in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)

open access: yesJournal of Infection and Public Health, 2012
Summary: Lung carcinoma is subdivided into small cell carcinoma and non-small cell carcinoma (NSCLC). NSCLC is heterogeneous group of carcinomas and accounts for 70–80% of lung cancer. NSCLC is further divided into adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma,

Preoperative CYFRA 21-1 and CEA as Prognostic Factors in Patients with Stage I Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Objective: To validate the prognostic value of preoperative levels of CYFRA 21-1, CEA and the corresponding tumor marker index (TMI) in patients with stage I non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: Two hundred forty stage I NSCLC patients (80 in pT1

Neurotensin in human small cell lung carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Cancer, 1984
High levels of neurotensin-like immunoreactivity were found in human small cell lung carcinoma lines. No immunoreactivity was present in non-small cell carcinoma lines and only low amounts in postmortem human lung tissue. The immunoreactive material co-eluted with synthetic neurotensin on two different chromatographic systems.
