Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) occupy an abundant fraction of the eukaryotic transcriptome and an emerging area in cancer research. Regulation by lncRNAs is based on their subcellular localization in HNSCC. This cartoon shows the various functions of lncRNAs in HNSCC discussed in this review.

Farnesylated heat shock protein 40 is a component of membrane-bound RISC in Arabidopsis [PDF]
ARGONAUTE1 (AGO1) binds directly to small regulatory RNA and is a key effector protein of post-transcriptional gene silencing mediated by microRNA (miRNA) and small interfering RNA (siRNA) in Arabidopsis. The formation of an RNA-induced silencing complex

In human monocytic cells THP‐1, a limited uptake of native—not oxidized—LDL/VLDL induced expression of scavenger receptor A and cellular adhesion. Induction was inhibited by lysosomotropic (WR‐1065) and lipophilic (BHT) antioxidants and by siRNAs against ferritinophagy.

Role of RNA Interference (RNAi) in the Moss Physcomitrella patens [PDF]
RNA interference (RNAi) is a mechanism that regulates genes by either transcriptional (TGS) or posttranscriptional gene silencing (PTGS), required for genome maintenance and proper development of an organism.

Development of 4T1 breast cancer mouse model system for preclinical carbonic anhydrase IX studies
Carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) is a well‐recognised therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker in cancer. We developed and characterised a robust murine breast cancer model system that is suitable for CAIX studies in vitro and in vivo—it comprises both CAIX‐positive and CAIX‐negative controls and provides a solid platform for the comprehensive ...

Small Interfering RNA Targeting Nerve Growth Factor Alleviates Allergic Airway Hyperresponsiveness
Airway hyperresponsiveness is the hallmark of allergic asthma and caused by multiple factors. Nerve growth factor (NGF), a neurotrophin, is originally known for regulation of neural circuit development and function.

Improved silencing properties using small internally segmented interfering RNAs [PDF]
RNA interference is mediated by small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) that upon incorporation into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) can target complementary mRNA for degradation. Standard siRNA design usually feature a 19–27 base pair contiguous double-

SGlycosylation Gene Signatures as Prognostic Biomarkers in Glioblastoma
ABSTRACT Objective Glioblastoma (GBM) is an aggressive brain tumor characterized by significant heterogeneity. This study investigates the role of glycosylation‐related genes in GBM subtyping, prognosis, and response to therapy. Methods We analyzed mRNA expression data and clinical information from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression ...
