Simple 8-Designs with Small Parameters

Designs, Codes and Cryptography, 1998
This is an important paper. The authors give explicit constructions for simple 8-\((31, 10, 93)\) and 8-\((31, 10, 100)\) designs. The designs are constructed with \(\text{PSL}(3, 5)\) as automorphism group, although it may not be the full automorphism group. The authors obtain 138 designs with \(\lambda= 93\) and 1658 designs with \(\lambda=100\). For

Cryptanalysis of RSA with a Small Parameter

2012
This paper investigates the security of RSA system with short exponents. Let N=pq be an RSA modulus with balanced primes p and q. Denote the public exponent by e and the private exponent by d. Then e and d satisfy ed−1=kφ(N), which is usually called the RSA equation.

Small Parameters in Interactions

1991
Let S be a complete separable metric space and μa probability measure on S p that is the product of probability measures v t on S (in general, different for distinct t write 〈·〉0 = 〈·〉μ.

Simple 7‐designs with small parameters

Journal of Combinatorial Designs, 1999
The authors describe a computer search using their program package DISCRETA for the construction of simple designs with prescribed automorphism groups. Many simple 7-designs are obtained.

Lasso screening with a small regularization parameter

2013 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2013
Screening for lasso problems is a means of quickly reducing the size of the dictionary needed to solve a given instance without impacting the optimality of the solution obtained. We investigate a sequential screening scheme using a selected sequence of regularization parameter values decreasing to the given target value.

Description of eye figure with small parameters

Proceedings of 3rd IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2002
The individuality of a human face depends on the fine details of the facial components, and it is necessary to extract and to describe these detailed patterns in order to recognize human faces. We propose a method to describe the eye figure with small parameters by classifying their patterns to typical groups.

On Exponentially Small Effects in Dynamical Systems with a Small Parameter

Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2005
The author proves a theorem which makes it possible to treat different exponentially small effects in dynamics from a unified point of view. As an example, the problem of in fast averaging in multi-frequency systems with a slow variable belonging to a Banach space is discussed.

Reflection Function and the Small Parameter Method

Differential Equations, 2004
The paper deals with periodic solutions of multi-dimensional differential systems. By combining symmetry properties expressed by the notion of reflection function with the small parameter method, sufficient conditions for the existence of periodic solutions are derived.

On parabolic equations with a small parameter

Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Physics, 2006
A singularly perturbed parabolic equation with a nonlinear right-hand side of a special form is examined. A numerical analytical study of such equations is performed.
