Small punch creep property evaluation by finite element of Kocks-Mecking-Estrin model for P91 at elevated temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Small punch creep testing (SPCT) of thin disc specimens can be considered as a useful technique for determination of creep properties of exposed components of power generation and other thermal structures.

Tensile Behavior of 3D Printed Specimens by Small Punch Test [PDF]

open access: yes한국정밀공학회지
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the deformation behavior of 3D printed specimens using the small punch tensile test method. Traditional tensile tests for assessing mechanical properties require a significant amount of material to produce ...

Development of an improved correlation method for the yield strength of steel alloys in the small punch test

open access: yesUbiquity Proceedings, 2018
The Small Punch Test (SPT) is a miniaturized test to characterize the mechanical properties of the materials. The load-displacement curve obtained by this test does not directly provide the material parameters, and linear correlations between data ...

Numerical investigation of the influence of friction in SPT experiments

open access: yesUbiquity Proceedings, 2018
Virtually all SPT test stands, which are operated in different laboratories, cause contact between different parts of the SPT due to the technical design. These frictional influences can lead to erroneous test results since the force transmitted from the

Somatostatin receptor 4 (SSTR4) is a tumor suppressor in cutaneous and head & neck squamous cell carcinomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study identifies somatostatin receptor 4 (Sstr4) as a critical tumor suppressor against skin and head/neck cancers (HNSCC, cSCC, and BCC). The loss of Sstr4 removes a check on cell growth, causing hyperactivation of the MAPK‐ERK signaling pathway (↑).

Characterizing Cutaneous α‐Synuclein Deposition and Seeding Activity in Parkinson's Disease Subtypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cutaneous phosphorylated α‐synuclein (p‐syn) and α‐synuclein seeding activity are promising biomarkers for Parkinson's disease (PD), but their clinical value remains uncertain due to disease heterogeneity. This study evaluates these two biomarkers in PD patients to inform phenotype‐specific diagnosis and disease severity assessment ...

Determination of creep properties from small punch test using experimental correlation

open access: yesUbiquity Proceedings, 2018
The correlation of the small punch creep (SPC) test results with uniaxial creep test results is challenging due to several factors. The stress state is equibiaxial in the SPC test and the equivalent stress is not constant as the punch is advancing into ...
