Chromosome‐Level Genome Assemblies of Two Softshell Turtles with ZZ/ZW Provide Insights into TE‐Driven Recombination Suppression in Sex Chromosomes

This study presents the first genomic identification and characterization of ZW sex chromosomes in two soft‐shelled turtle species through genome assembly and resequencing. We reveal the structural organization of ZW chromosomes, identifying both pseudoautosomal regions (PARs) and differentiated regions.

Nastanak je ovoga priloga motivirala činjenica da nema radova koji se odnose na konceptualnu analizu smrti u frazeologiji hrvatskoga jezika. U radu se analiziraju frazemi hrvatskoga jezika koji su svojim značenjem i/ili sastavnicama vezani za pojam smrti. Smrt je jedna od pojava koje se ljudi pomalo pribojavaju i ne vole o njoj govoriti ni razmišljati.

Eye can see clearly now: Identifying the locus associated with a white‐eye mutation in honey bees (Apis mellifera)

We performed a community science investigation with the beekeepers nationwide to find phenotypic mutants. Alongside a beekeeper in Kentucky, we performed a GWAS to identify a region associated with a white‐eye phenotype. We identified an eight bp region in a non‐coding RNA strongly associated with white eyes.
