Aging and periodontitis increase brain dissemination of oral bacteria

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, Volume 97, Issue 9, Page 1965-1979, September 2026.
Abstract Background The microbiome is a dynamic system that changes throughout life. Studies have revealed the relationship between periodontal disease and the oral microbiota; however, the impact of periodontal disease on the expression of senescence markers and on the inflammaging of the oral and systemic microbiome remains unclear.

Living Biohybrid Hydrogels for Co‐Delivery of Oxygen, Anti‐Cancer Drugs, and Probiotics: Effects on Cancer and Healthy Cell Viability

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, Volume 26, Issue 9, September 2026.
A probiotic‐enriched BioHybrid hydrogel that provides sustained O2, probiotic metabolites, and pH‐responsive anti‐cancer drug is reported. This BioHybrid hydrogel promotes healthy cell viability while reducing ROS and decreases cancer cell viability while increasing ROS under hypoxia conditions. The co‐administration of O2, metabolites, and drug from a

Turkish UCLA PTSD‐RI‐5: Validation and the Role of Symptom Severity in Functional Impairment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Methods in Psychiatric Research, Volume 35, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives This study translated the UCLA PTSD Reaction Index for DSM‐5 into Turkish (PTSD‐RI‐5‐TR), evaluated its psychometric properties, and examined whether PTSD symptom severity predicts functional impairment in Turkish adolescents aged 11–17.

Predicting Cold Atmospheric Plasma‐Induced Wettability Transformations in Biopolymers: A Stacked Ensemble Machine Learning Framework

open access: yesPlasma Processes and Polymers, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
This study introduces an explainable machine learning framework to transition cold atmospheric plasma engineering from wet‐lab trial‐and‐error to in silico rational design. By utilizing a superior wettability reduction metric and SHAP analysis, the model accurately predicts the true mechanistic drivers of biopolymer modification.
