Paternal Circadian Disruption Impairs Offspring Cognition via Sperm microRNAs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Paternal circadian disruption remodels the sperm small RNA payload, elevating miR‐92a‐3p/miR‐25‐3p levels and perturbing early embryonic gene regulatory programs. Microinjection experiments and single‐embryo transcriptomics reveal sex‐specific developmental vulnerabilities, ultimately impairing offspring hippocampal synaptic plasticity and cognition ...

Homing and daytime tidal movements of juvenile snappers (Lutjanidae) between shallow-water nursery habitats in Zanzibar, western Indian Ocean

open access: yes, 2004
Item does not contain fulltextWe studied daily tidal movements of tagged juvenile Lutjanus fulviflamma and Lutjanus ehrenbergii between two adjacent habitats, a subtidal channel and shallow tidal notches in the fossil reef terrace, in a shallow marine ...

Targeting the PDK1/c‐Myc/SOX10 Signaling in Oligodendrocytes Alleviates Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reveals that oligodendrocyte homeostasis, mediated by PDK1, is a critical determinant of neuropathic pain (NPP) pathogenesis. Disruption of PDK1 in oligodendrocytes impairs SOX10‐dependent myelination programs through c‐Myc accumulation, leading to disrupted myelination and the pathophysiology of NPP.

Enhanced Glycolysis‐Driven Histone H3K18 Lactylation Regulates Epileptogenesis by Modulating the E3 Ubiquitin Ligase COP1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neuronal PKM2‐driven glycolysis generates excess lactate that triggers histone H3K18 lactylation (H3K18la), establishing a pathogenic metabolic‐epigenetic axis in epilepsy. Elevated H3K18la enriches the Cop1 promoter, transcriptionally upregulating the E3 ubiquitin ligase COP1, which subsequently drives proteasomal degradation of GABAARβ2 and impairs ...

Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

A Radioresistant‐Tumor‐Targeted Nanoparticle for X‐Ray‐Controlled Nitric Oxide Release to Potentiate Radiotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The PBTN targets GRP78 and, upon X‐ray irradiation, generates ONOO− to induce immunogenic cell death, thereby activating CD8+ T cells and establishing a systemic antitumor immune response. ABSTRACT Nitric oxide (NO) treated radioresistant tumors by relieving hypoxia and blocking DNA repair, but its nonselective toxicity has precluded therapeutic use ...

Taxonomic documentation on the lesser-known jobfishes Pristipomoides auricilla and Pristipomoides multidens from the southeastern Arabian Sea

open access: yesDiscover Oceans
Goldflag jobfish Pristipomoides auricilla (Jordan, Evermann and Tanaka, 1927) and goldbanded jobfish Pristipomoides multidens (Day, 1871) were recently recorded from the southeastern Arabian Sea, marking an occasional occurrence.

Nanocellulose Alleviates Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy via Gut Microbiota‐Mediated Bile Acid Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.
