Growth stanzas in an Epinephelidae-Lutjanidae complex: considerations to length-weight relationships

open access: yesRevista de Biología Tropical, 2015
Growth stanzas or abrupt changes in growth rates are present throughout the life span of fish. Identifying growth stanzas will help to adequately described growth taking into account that fishes are indeterminate growers.

Microsphere‐Templated Conductive Syntactic Foams for Recyclable and Additively Manufactured Soft Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a microsphere‐templated strategy to fabricate reprocessable PEDOT:PSS syntactic foams with tunable porosity, stable conductivity, and 3D printability. In situ PEDOT:PSS coatings create a conductive network that maintains electrical performance at high void fractions.

Super‐Resolution Ultrasound Based Cell Tracking With Polymeric Nanobubbles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a super‐resolution ultrasound platform for tracking cells in vivo. Biocompatible polymeric nanobubbles are used as highly echogenic intracellular labels. Following the injection of cells and microbubbles, ultrasound localization microscopy (ULM) can dynamically match the microvascular architecture and individual cell trajectories ...

A Survey of Interlayer Interaction Models for Graphene and Other 2D Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Van der Waals interactions arising from electronic polarization at atomically close interfaces generate corrugated interlayer energy landscapes that govern normal and tangential tractions. This review presents an overview of quantum, atomistic, analytical, and continuum modeling approaches, highlighting their roles across length scales in capturing ...

Occurrence of Isopods in Two Species of Snappers (Lutjanidae) from Northeast Brazil

open access: yesJournal of Parasitology Research, 2019
Parasitic isopod species are poorly known in the northeastern coast of Brazil. In this sense, this study presents novel records of Isopoda of the families Aegidae, Cymothoidae, and Corallanidae.

Phylogenetic relationships of selected genera of Lutjanidae inferred from mitochondrial regions, with a note on the taxonomic status of Pinjalo pinjalo

open access: yesCiencias Marinas, 2013
Phylogenetic relationships of 43 species in 11 genera, representing four subfamilies of the family Lutjanidae and two genera of the family Caesionidae, were inferred using mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI).

The snappers

open access: yes, 2012
A wild ride back to the halcyon mid 20th century decades of the newspaper industry in Australia, as some old time press photographers reflect on life behind the camera lens, and their willingness to do just about anything in pursuit of the

An account of hand lining fishery for snappers and groupers at Beypore, Calicut with a note on the biology of Pristipomoides typus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
There is a seasonal hand lining fishery for groupers and snappers by Colachel and nearby fishermen. The snappers of which Pristipomoides typus forms the main species are totally untapped by any other gear in this ...
