Harmonic elimination of a fifteen‐level inverter with reduced number of switches using genetic algorithm

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, EarlyView., 2023
This article presents a Fifteen‐level inverter topology that has a lesser number of switches (12) and can accommodate isolated DC sources. The total harmonic elimination (THD) of the proposed topology using genetic algorithm is within the IEEE 519 standards. Further, the fifteen‐level inverter is implemented in Hardware and firing pulses were generated

Gate driver power supply arrangement for cascode‐connected super‐junction MOSFETs in a bridge‐leg

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2022
This letter presents a circuit for powering cascode gate driver circuits with super‐junction (SJ) MOSFETs in a bridge‐leg. The cascode gate driver gives inherent MOSFET intrinsic diode deactivation, and the bridge‐leg incorporates an inductive turn‐on ...

Electromagnetic interference‐based comparative study between transformerless H5 and optimised H5 grid‐connected photovoltaic inverters

open access: yesIET Science, Measurement & Technology, 2021
In this study, a comparative study between two single‐phase transformerless grid‐connected photovoltaic (PV) inverters, namely H5 and optimised H5 (oH5), is carried out based on conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) performance.

A Method for CM EMI Suppression on PFC Converter Using Lossless Snubber with Chaotic Spread Spectrum

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
This paper proposes an improved common mode (CM) electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression method in switching power supplies. The lossless snubber circuit can reduce du/dt and EMI in the high-frequency band.

Solidifying Power Electronics [Historical] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
More than one century ago, in 1902, American engineer Peter Cooper Hewitt (1861\u20131921) derived the mercury arc-rectifier, enclosed in a glass bulb, from his mercury-vapor lamp of the previous year.

Augmented Models of High-Frequency Transformers for SMPS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The modeling of high-frequency transformers via augmented equivalent circuits is addressed. The augmented models are composed of a low-frequency equivalent and a supplemental element modeled via real rational fitting. They offer both high accuracy levels
