Design, Modelling and Control of a MW‐level Hydrogen Converter for an Off‐Grid DC Hydrogen Production System

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper proposes a high‐power hydrogen converter specifically designed for megawatt‐level (MW‐scale) off‐grid hydrogen production systems powered by renewable energy sources. A two‐stage ISOP architecture is adopted to fulfill the demanding requirements of high voltage step‐up, high efficiency, low output ripple, and reliable power regulation.

A damper for ground wind-induced launch vehicle oscillations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Prelaunch oscillatory bending deflections of the Atlas/Centaur launch vehicle are restrained by a damper mechanism mounted on the end of a horizontal boom supported from the umbilical tower. A single vertical pin on the vehicle engages the mechanism, and

A Modified Isolated Z‐Source AC–AC Converter With Inherent Commutation and Reduced Polarity Changer Switches

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
In this paper, a modified isolated Z‐source AC–AC converter with inherent commutation and reduced polarity changer switches is proposed. This converter enables flexible output voltage adjustment, determined by two degrees of freedom—namely, the high‐frequency transformer turns ratio and the duty cycle.

Development of a Compact Bipolar Voltage Generator to Test HV XLPE Cables With Damped AC Voltage

open access: yesIET Science, Measurement &Technology, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper presents a compact bipolar HVDC generator that employs bidirectional rectifier switches instead of conventional diodes in the voltage multiplier, enabling selectable output polarities. The proposed generator provides a bipolar charging manner for damped alternating current testing of HV cross‐linked polyethylene cables to mitigate the space ...
