An agent-based exploration of the influence of needs on health protection motivation and intentions

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
Human behavior plays a crucial role in public health. In the same sense, understanding the multifaceted factors influencing health-related decisions is essential to derive meaningful protective measures.

Agent-Based Social Simulation with Coalitions in Social Reasoning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
There is a growing belief that the agents' cognitive structures play a central role on the enhancement of predicative capacities of decision-making strategies. This paper analyses and simulates the construction of cognitive social structures in the process of decision making with multiple actors.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

A Testing Framework for Blockchain-Based Energy Trade Microgrids Applications

open access: yesIEEE Access
Distributed energy generation disrupts traditional energy markets by blurring the line between producers and consumers and enabling the emerging prosumers to trade energy in per-to-peer transactions.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

A Methodology for the Design of Application-Specific Cyber-Physical Social Sensing Co-Simulators

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Cyber-Physical Social Sensing (CPSS) is a new trend in the context of pervasive sensing. In these new systems, various domains coexist in time, evolve together and influence each other.

Addendum to "A generalized Nash equilibrium for a bio-economic problem of fishing" [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Research on Industrial Engineering, 2017
In [1] the authors have set up a bio-economic equilibrium model to understand the interactions between three fish populations and seek to maximize the profits of fishermen.
