Miscibility of sodium chloride and sodium dodecyl sulfate in the adsorbed film and aggregate [PDF]

open access: yesColloid and Polymer Science, 2009
The adsorption, micelle formation, and salting out of sodium dodecyl sulfate in the presence of sodium chloride were studied from the viewpoint of their mixed adsorption and aggregate formation.

Reversible Denaturation of Enzymes by Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate [PDF]

open access: hybridJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1971
Successful renaturation of several oligomeric enzymes after denaturation by sodium dodecyl sulfate is described. The results obtained suggest a general procedure for reactivation of enzymes after treatment with this detergent. Proteins in dodecyl sulfate solution are first incubated in concentrated urea and are then freed of the detergent by an anion ...

Thermodynamics of aqueous sodium dodecyl sulfate [PDF]

open access: green, 1977
A flow microcalorimeter system was assembled and is being used in a thermodynamic study of surfactant systems as part of the ERDA enhanced oil recovery program. Enthalpies of dilution and demicellization of sodium dodecyl sulfate were measured over a temperature range of 20 to 35/sup 0/C.

Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate-Stable Proteases in Chloroplasts [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1997
Abstract Chloroplast subfractions were monitored for sodium dodecyl sulfate-stable proteases. Nine distinct activities in the molecular mass range from 14 to 66 kD have been detected. Five of the proteases associated with thylakoid membranes belong to the serine and cysteine types of proteases.

A simple drying solution that minimizes cracking during air-drying of polyacrylamide gels

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2023
Sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis is a routine technique used in biochemistry. Air-drying is an economical method of gel preservation that does not require expensive equipment.

Capillary Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate Agarose Gel Electrophoresis of Proteins

open access: yesGels, 2022
Capillary sodium dodecyl sulfate gel electrophoresis has long been used for the analysis of proteins, mostly either with entangled polymer networks or translationally cross-linked gels.

Solubilization Of Calcium Dodecyl Sulfate In A Micellar Solution And In Lamellar Liquid Crystal [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Calcium dodecyl sulfate (CDS) was solubilized in the aqueous micellar solution of sodium dodecyl sulfate and in the lamellar liquid crystal obtained from water, sodium dodecyl sulfate and decanal.

Enhanced Removal of the Xenobiotic Surfactant Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate from Actual Nondomestic Wastewaters Using Immobilized Mixed Bacterial Cells [PDF]

open access: yesChemical and Biochemical Engineering Quarterly, 2022
Cell immobilization has been proven to offer noticeable benefits over conventional biological systems using free cells, particularly for recalcitrant compounds.

The stability of alkaline phosphatase in sodium dodecyl sulfate

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1974
While sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) is a most effectieve detergent for solubilizing membrane proteins, this detergent is also an effective protein denaturant [l-4] . At appropriate detergent concentrations and after equilibrium dialysis, the SDS-protein complexes formed contain approximately 1.4 g of SDS bound/g protein [ 1,2] .
