ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Effect of counter ion concentration added with mixture of water and ethylene glycol on krafft temperature of sodium dodecyl sulfate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Surfactants are amphiphilic organic compounds having both hydrophobic and hydrophilic groups. Surfactants in solution form aggregates known as micelles. The minimum temperature at which surfactants forms micelles is known as Krafft temperature.

Intercalation and Exfoliation of Kaolinite with Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate [PDF]

open access: yesMinerals, 2018
Kaolinite (Kaol) was intercalated with dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and subsequently methanol (MeOH) to prepare intercalation compounds Kaol-DMSO and Kaol-MeOH. Kaol-MeOH was used as an intermediate to synthesize Kaol-sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) intercalation compound (Kaol-SDS) via displacement reaction. The ultrasonic exfoliation of Kaol-SDS produced a

Loss of primary cilia promotes EphA2‐mediated endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in the ovarian tumor microenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of primary cilia in endothelial cells promotes EndMT and vascular abnormalities in the ovarian tumor microenvironment through EphA2 activation. Using human samples, in vitro models, and endothelial‐specific Kif3a‐knockout mice, we show that primary cilia loss drives the acquisition of cancer‐associated fibroblast‐like phenotypes, thereby ...

Determination of the thermodynamic parameters and critical micelle concentration in the water-toluene-sodium dodecyl sulfate emulsion system in the presence of methyl methacrylate [PDF]

open access: yesشیمی کاربردی روز, 2014
In this study, the effect of methyl methacrylate on the stability of the emulsion system and its distribution in water- toluene system, half decay time, surface tension by drip method and critical micelle concentration by conductometry method were ...

Studies of Acetylcholinesterase in Synaptosomes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Acetylcholinesterase from rat brain was studied in crude homogenates, partially purified enzyme fractions, and in synaptosomes, to observe modification of the enzyme as a consequence of the modification of the membrane containing it.

A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

Direct observation of «cholesterol - Model of biological membrane» complex by NMR spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Interaction and aggregation of cholesterol and sodium dodecyl sulfate molecules were studied in this paper. Sodium dodecyl sulfate was taken as a model for biological membranes.

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Lauryl Sulfate Profile [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
NYS IPM Type: Minimum Risk PesticideLauryl sulfate, otherwise known as hydrogen dodecyl sulfate, is an anionic surfactant. It is not commonly used in pesticides, with sodium lauryl sulfate being the preferred form.
