Regulation of PVT‐CeA Circuit in Deoxynivalenol‐Induced Anorexia and Aversive‐Like Emotions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study investigates Deoxynivalenol (DON) effects on feeding and emotions, focusing on the central amygdala (CeA). Acute DON exposure reduces food intake and alters behavior, linked to CeAGABA neuron activity and PVT‐CeA connectivity. Manipulating CeAGABA neurons and using SCN10A antagonist A‐803467 alleviate DON's effects, offering potential ...

A companion to the preclinical common data elements and case report forms for neuropathology studies in epilepsy research. A report of the TASK3 WG2 Neuropathology Working Group of the ILAE/AES Joint Translational Task Force

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract The International League Against Epilepsy/American Epilepsy Society (ILAE/AES) Joint Translational Task Force initiated the TASK3 working group to create common data elements (CDEs) for various aspects of preclinical epilepsy research studies, which could help improve the standardization of experimental designs.

Reversible High‐Affinity Binding of Coagulation Factor Xa to Zeolites Induces Accelerated Blood Coagulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A calcium‐dependent, specific biorecognition between coagulation factor Xa (FXa) and zeolite is discovered. It alters the prothrombin activation pathway to a more efficient mechanism by mimicking the FXa/factor Va (FXa/FVa) interaction formed during the natural coagulation cascade.

A companion to the preclinical common data elements and case report forms for in vivo rodent neuroimaging: A report of the TASK3‐WG3 Neuroimaging Working Group of the ILAE/AES Joint Translational Task Force

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract The International League Against Epilepsy/American Epilepsy Society (ILAE/AES) Joint Translational Task Force established the TASK3 working groups to create common data elements (CDEs) for various aspects of preclinical epilepsy research studies, which could help improve the standardization of experimental designs.

Interaction of Excitatory Amino Acid Transporters 1 – 3 (EAAT1, EAAT2, EAAT3) with N-Carbamoylglutamate and N-Acetylglutamate

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2017
Background/Aims: Inborn deficiency of the N-acetylglutamate synthase (NAGS) impairs the urea cycle and causes neurotoxic hyperammonemia. Oral administration of N-carbamoylglutamate (NCG), a synthetic analog of N-acetylglutamate (NAG), successfully ...

A theoretical study of the role of astrocyte activity in neuronal hyperexcitability using a new neuro-glial mass model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
The investigation of the neuronal environment allows us to better understand the activity of a cerebral region as a whole. The recent experimental evidences of the presence of transporters for glutamate and GABA in both neuronal and astrocyte compartments raise the question of the functional importance of the astrocytes in the regulation of the ...

Utilizing Caenorhabditis Elegans as a Rapid and Precise Model for Assessing Amphetamine‐Type Stimulants: A Novel Approach to Evaluating New Psychoactive Substances Activity and Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uses Caenorhabditis elegans to assess the activity of amphetamine‐type stimulants (ATS) and their analogs. The research highlights the roles of dopamine and serotonin pathways, distinguishes chiral forms of ATS, and identifies structure‐activity relationships. These findings provide a rapid and cost‐effective model for evaluating the effects

Does a glycine sodium nitrite crystal exist? [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
The glycine sodium nitrite crystal reported by Khandpekar and Pati in the paper entitled, Synthesis and characterisation of glycine sodium nitrite crystals having non linear optical behaviour, Opt Commun 285, 2012 288-293 is actually gamma-glycine. In addition, we show that glycine barium ammonium nitrate, glycine sodium zinc sulfate, glycine barium ...

FABP4 as a Mediator of Lipid Metabolism and Pregnant Uterine Dysfunction in Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Obesity during late pregnancy contributes to uterine smooth muscle dysfunction, but the underlying mechanisms are unclear. This study identifies fatty acid binding protein 4 (FABP4) as a key player in the process, mediating excessive fatty acid uptake, lipid accumulation, and mitochondrial dysfunction in myometrial cells. FABP4 could be a novel uterine
