Fast and Efficient Monitoring of Diclofenac Dissolution Profile by CE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Capillary electrophoresis (CE) was used to follow Diclofenac tablet dissolution, in very short times and allowing dissolution testing without volume replacement. By using Student´s t test and F-test, this CE method was compared with HPLC.

Formulation and Evaluation of Solid Dispersions of Furosemide in Sodium Starch Glycolate

open access: yesTropical Journal of Pharmaceutical Research, 2009
Purpose: This investigation was carried out to determine if a solid dispersion of furosemide in sodium starch glycolate (SSG) would enhance the dissolution properties of the drug. Methods: Solid dispersion of furosemide in SSG was prepared in ratios of 1:1 and 1 (furosemide):2 (SSG) by kneading method.

Guard cell photorespiration controls stomata behavior and development

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Photorespiration is traditionally viewed as a limitation to photosynthetic efficiency. However, it is mandatory for safeguarding the Calvin–Benson–Bassham cycle from inhibitory byproducts through Rubisco‐mediated oxidative misfire and is tightly integrated with primary metabolism.

Metabolic engineering of the serine/glycine network as a means to improve the nitrogen content of crops. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Biotechnol J
Summary In plants, L‐serine (Ser) biosynthesis occurs through various pathways and is highly dependent on the atmospheric CO2 concentration, especially in C3 species, due to the association of the Glycolate Pathway of Ser Biosynthesis (GPSB) with photorespiration.

CpERF‐WRI1 Manipulates Ethylene Sensing by Regulating the Expression of CpERS1 and Fruit Ripening in Papaya

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ethylene plays a crucial role in fruit ripening and is perceived by specialised receptor proteins embedded in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane. As an ethylene antagonist, 1‐methylcyclopropene (1‐MCP) binds to these receptors and delays papaya ripening, but improper use can cause ripening disorders.

Compaction behaviour and mechanical strength of lactose-sodium starch glycolate and lactose-croscarmellose sodium binary tablets

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2018
The focus of this study is to elucidate the effects of adding super disintegrants (SSG and Acdisol) to a filler (lactose) in terms of the compaction behaviour and mechanical strength of the formed binary tablets. The tablets were formed in a uniaxial die compaction process with compaction pressures ranging from 37.7MPa to 150.7 MPa.
