Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Collective vibrations and soft modes in hard sphere colloids [PDF]
Glas en andere amorfe vaste stoffen hebben eigenschappen bij lage temperaturen die significant afwijken van de eigenschappen van kristallijne materie (materiaal opgebouwd uit kristallen).

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Dissipative Soft Modes in Viscous Nematodynamics
The paper analyses a possible occurrence of soft and semi-soft viscous modes in slow (low Reynolds number) flows of uniaxially anisotropic nematic liquids as described by the five parametric Leslie-Ericksen-Parodi (LEP) constitutive equations (CEs).

Exploring the unfolding pathways of protein families using Elastic Network Model
We explore how a protein’s native structure determines its unfolding process. We examine how the local structural features, like shear, and the global structural properties, like the number of soft modes, change during unfolding.
