Design Considerations for 3D Printed, Soft, Multimaterial Resistive Sensors for Soft Robotics

open access: yesFrontiers in Robotics and AI, 2019
Sensor design for soft robots is a challenging problem because of the wide range of design parameters (e.g., geometry, material, actuation type, etc.) critical to their function.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

An adaptive soft sensor deterioration evaluation and model updating method for time-varying chemical processes [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Industry and Chemical Engineering Quarterly, 2020
Due to the time-varying nature of chemical processes, soft sensor models deteriorate, and data prediction accuracy decreases. To address this problem, an adaptive soft sensor modeling method is proposed that not only evaluates the model deterioration by ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Development of a Multi-Model Strategy Based Soft Sensor Using Gaussian Process Regression and Principal Component Analysis in Fermentation Processes

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2017
In fermentation processes, single model based soft sensors cannot guarantee prediction performance owing to process characteristics of non-linearity, shifting operating modes, dynamics and uncertainty.
