Ultrasound‐Induced Adsorption of Acousto‐Responsive Microgels at Water–Oil Interface
Ultrasonic mixing is a well‐established method to disperse and mix substances. However, the effects of ultrasound on dispersed soft particles as well as on their adsorption kinetics at interfaces remain unexplored.

ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.

Robust soft sensors for SBR monitoring
In wastewater treatment some process variables may be very difficult to measure directly because of the non-availability or excessive cost of sensors. An alternative is to use ‘soft sensors” that provide online estimates of these inacessible variables by calculations based on auxiliary measurable variables.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

3D Printable Soft Sensory Fiber Networks for Robust and Complex Tactile Sensing
The human tactile system is composed of multi-functional mechanoreceptors distributed in an optimized manner. Having the ability to design and optimize multi-modal soft sensory systems can further enhance the capabilities of current soft robotic systems.

A Feasibility Study in Measuring Soft Tissue Artifacts on the Upper Leg Using Inertial and Magnetic Sensors [PDF]
Soft-tissue artifacts cause inaccurate estimates of body segment orientations. The inertial sensor (or optical marker) is orientating (or displacing) with respect to the bone it has to measure, due to muscle and skin movement [1].

Instantaneous vehicle fuel consumption estimation using smartphones and Recurrent Neural Networks [PDF]
The high level of air pollution in urban areas, caused in no small extent by road transport, requires the implementation of continuous and accurate monitoring techniques if emissions are to be minimized. The primary motivation for this paper is to enable
