Natural organic matter (NOM) adsorption onto and coprecipitation with solids formed during softening
textSoftening, which reduces the hardness in source waters by precipitating the divalent hardness ions, was evaluated as a mechanism to also remove natural organic matter (NOM) and subsequently reduce disinfection by-product (DBP) formation.

Gonzalez Martinez and collaborators develop a strategy to formulate high performance GelMA‐based bioinks with low solids contents. The resulting bioinks enable 3D bioprinting at 37 °C of high‐fidelity structures with tunable mechanical properties that support high cell viability and function.

Analytical solution for shear bands in cold-rolled 1018 steel
Cold-rolled 1018 (CR-1018) carbon steel has been well known for its susceptibility to adiabatic shear banding under dynamic loadings. Analysis of these localizations highly depends on the selection of the constitutive model.

This work introduces a microsphere‐templated strategy to fabricate reprocessable PEDOT:PSS syntactic foams with tunable porosity, stable conductivity, and 3D printability. In situ PEDOT:PSS coatings create a conductive network that maintains electrical performance at high void fractions.

Strain-softening analysis of concrete structures
The numerical model of concrete should account for tension and compression softening phenomena observed experimentally. The finite element model presented here allows multidirectional strain-softening to take place within the element.

Drawing inspiration from the layered hard‐soft architecture found in sea sponges, this work establishes a new framework for architected cementitious composites (ACC) through multi‐material additive manufacturing (MMAM) process. The integration of mortar and elastomer phases into layered architectures enables synergistic toughening mechanisms, including

Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.
