A one dimensional variational model of superelasticity for shape memory alloys
In this paper we propose a variational framework for the modeling of superelasticity in shape memory alloys with softening behavior. This model is valid for a class of standard rate-independent materials with a single internal variable. The quasi-static

The postharvest properties of two ultra-late maturing peach cultivars, “Tobihaku” (TH) and “Daijumitsuto” (DJ), were investigated. Fruit were harvested at commercial maturity and held at 25°C. TH exhibited the characteristics of normal melting flesh (MF)

Mechanism of Softening Effect of Fabric Softener
The mechanism of softening effect for fabric softeners has been explained as lowering of friction between the fibers. This explanation, however, has not been verified. The trend date of B-value of KES-FB2 and the result of perfect drying cotton threads indicate that the increase of hardness of cotton threads after the process of wetting by water and ...

Visco-elastic regularization and strain softening
In this paper it is intended to verify the capacity of regularization of the numerical solution of an elasto-plastic problem with linear strain softening. The finite element method with a displacement approach is used.

Mechanically Robust, Softening Shape Memory Polymer Probes for Intracortical Recording
While intracortical microelectrode arrays (MEAs) may be useful in a variety of basic and clinical scenarios, their implementation is hindered by a variety of factors, many of which are related to the stiff material composition of the device.

Low waste technology for mine waters treatment using lime and aluminum coagulants
In this paper the process of reagent desalination of mineralized mine waters was studied. The peculiarity of mine waters in many regions of Ukraine is that, along with hardness ions, they also contain sulphates in fairly high concentrations.

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

ON A NEW TECHNOLOGY OF PREPARATION OF HOT DRINKING WATER
The present article contains information concerning the new Cl-anionization technology in the preparation of hot drinking water. In contrast with water softening, that replaces all the hardness salts by sodium cations in the cation exchanger, this new ...

Multi-scale computational model for failure analysis of metal frames that includes softening and local buckling [PDF]
In this work we present a new modelling paradigm for computing the complete failure of metal frames by combining the stress-resultant beam model and the shell model.
