Integration of Extra-Functional Properties in Component Models

open access: yes, 2009
Management of extra-functional properties in component models is one ofthe main challenges in the component-based software engineering community.Still, the starting point in their management, namely their specification in acontext of component models is ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Evolution of a Software Component -- Experiences with a Network Editor

open access: yes, 2003
Even though the benefits of component-based software development are widely accepted, they are easily overestimated. To provide a firmer basis for the general discussion we describe our real life experiences with a software component.

Design Patterns and Component Framework for Building RTSJ-Based Real-Time Middleware [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The middleware is a software layer located on top of the operating system that uses its facilities, integrates with it, and extends its functionality in order to support the development of effective and reliable distributed systems; however, the ...

Using autonomous components to improve runtime qualities of software

open access: yes, 2011
In the development of software systems, quality properties should be considered along with the development process so that the qualities of software systems can be inferred and predicted at the specification and design stages and be evaluated and ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

A Genetic Algorithm for Automated Refactoring of Component-Based Software

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on Creative Technologies, 2016
Nowadays a software undergoes modifications done by different people to quickly fulfill new requirements, but its underlying design is not adjusted properly after each update. This leads to the emergence of bad smells.
