SATIN: a component model for mobile self-organisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We have recently witnessed a growing interest in self organising systems, both in research and in practice. These systems re-organise in response to new or changing conditions in the environment.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Learning to select software components

open access: yes, 2004
Developers using software components need to be confident in their selection of the most suitable component. Manual searching is time consuming and unlikely to be able to consider large numbers of components. The Context-driven Component Evaluation (CdCE)

Separation of concerns in hybrid agent and component system

open access: yes, 2010
Modularising requirements is a classic problem of software engineering; concerns often overlap, requiring multiple dimensions of decomposition to achieve separation.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Integration of Simulink Models with Component-based Software Models

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2008
Model based development aims to facilitate the development of embedded control systems by emphasizing the separation of the design level from the implementation level.

An investigation into evolving support for component reuse [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
It is common in engineering disciplines for new product development to be based on a concept of reuse, i.e. based on a foundation of knowledge and pre-existing components familiar to the discipline's community.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Model-driven safety evaluation with state-event-based component failure annotations

open access: yes, 2022
S.33-48 : Ill., Lit.Over the past years, the paradigm of component-based software engineering has been established in the construction of complex mission-critical systems. Due to this trend, there is a practical need for techniques that evaluate critical
