E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Delayed failure of software components using stochastic testing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The present research investigates the delayed failure of software components and addresses the problem that the conventional approach to software testing is unlikely to reveal this type of failure. Delayed failure is defined as a failure that occurs some

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

A Component-Oriented Programming for Embedded Mobile Robot Software

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2008
Applying software reuse to many Embedded Real-Time (ERT) systems poses significant challenges to industrial software processes due to the resource-constrained and real-time requirements of the systems.

Model driven, component-based development

open access: yes, 2022
S.27-48 : Ill., Lit.As complex behavioral abstractions, business components in many ways can be viewed as (sub)systems in their own right, and thus need to be treated as such.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Organising the knowledge space for software components [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Software development has become a distributed, collaborative process based on the assembly of off-the-shelf and purpose-built components. The selection of software components from component repositories and the development of components for these ...

A globally-applied component model for programmable networking

open access: yes, 2003
We argue that currently developed software frameworks for active and programmable networking do not provide a truly generic approach to the development, deployment, and management of services.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Semantic Integrity in Component Based Development

open access: yes, 2002
Due to the distributed nature of the growing field of Component Based Software Engineering (CBSE) and the increasing complexity of modern systems, the semantic aspects of software components must be well specified.
