Edible robotics is an emerging field that leverages edible materials to construct robotic systems. This study presents a method to create thin, lightweight, yet powerful edible soft actuators, namely edible pouch motors. The successful operation of these edible actuators and grippers renders their potential to advance future developments in edible ...

Study of Hydrophobic Domains in Humic Acids [PDF]
Fyzikálně-chemická povaha hydrofobních domén huminových kyselin byla studována z několika hledisek. K objasnění významu fluorescenčních spekter byly vzorky podrobeny sekvenční frakcionaci, která pomohla k částečnému objasnění vlivu vodorozpustných složek,

Here, we present a textile, wearable capacitive interface enabling multidirectional remote control by dynamically modulating electrode overlap and spacing via a freely gliding upper electrode. A forearm‐mounted prototype drives robotic and media tasks with 12–15 ms latency, maintains < 0.8% drift after 500 cycles, and remains stably functional at 90 ...

Multi-level assessment of soil quality – linking reductionistic and holistic methodologies [PDF]
Soil quality is often used as a qualitative, general term. However, quantification is an important feature of the scientific approach to nature. On the other hand, addressing specific soil parameters as indicators of soil quality includes a reduction of ...

Data‐Driven Bulldozer Blade Control for Autonomous Terrain Leveling
A simulation‐driven framework for autonomous bulldozer leveling is presented, combining high‐fidelity terramechanics simulation with a neural‐network‐based reduced‐order model. Gradient‐based optimization enables efficient, low‐level blade control that balances leveling quality and operation time.

Thermo-mechanical behaviour of a compacted swelling clay [PDF]
Compacted unsaturated swelling clay is often considered as a possible buffer material for deep nuclear waste disposal. An isotropic cell permitting simultaneous control of suction, temperature and pressure was used to study the thermo-mechanical ...

Fractal and compositional analysis of soil aggregation
A soil aggregate is made of closely packed sand, silt, clay, and organic particles building up soil structure. Soil aggregation is a soil quality index integrating the chemical, physical, and biological processes involved in the genesis of soil structure and tilth.

Root‐Stimulated Movements in Mimosa Pudica for Biohybrid Robotic Systems
This study demonstrates that thermal and electrical stimulation of Mimosa pudica root induces movement of the petiole and pinnules without direct stimulation of the aerial organs, thereby enabling a plant‐based robotic gripper and providing a foundation for the development of intelligent and sustainable systems.
