Recessive and Dominant Genes Interfere with the Vascular Transport of Potato virus A in Diploid Potatoes

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2000
Resistance to Potato virus A (PVA) was examined in a diploid cross involving Solanum tuberosum subsp. andigena as a resistance source. Hypersensitive resistance (HR) to PVA cosegregated with extreme resistance (ER) to Potato virus Y conferred by the ...

Sema

Genetic diversity of native potatoes (Solanumspp.) conserved in landraces from Peru

open access: yesRevista Peruana de Biología, 2014
This paper analyzes the genetic diversity of 79 accessions of native potato varieties (Solanum spp.) using 18 microsatellite markers. A random sample from Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huancavelica and Puno from "chacras" of farmers who collaborated with ...

Pest categorisation of Septoria malagutii

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 16, Issue 12, December 2018., 2018
Abstract The Panel on Plant Health performed a pest categorisation of Septoria malagutii, the causal agent of annular leaf spot of potato, for the EU. The pest is a well‐defined fungal species and reliable methods exist for its detection and identification. S. malagutii is present in Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.

Molecular marker analysis of 24- and 25-chromosome plants obtained fromSolanum tuberosumL. subsp.andigena(2n= 4x= 48) pollinated with aSolanum phurejahaploid inducer [PDF]

open access: yesGenome, 2002
Clones with 24 or 25 chromosomes were obtained by pollinating an Andean cultivated tetraploid potato (Solanum tuberosum subsp. andigena clone 94H94, 2n = 4x = 48) with the Solanum phureja haploid-inducer clone 1.22. Their genetic composition was analyzed in an RAPD assay using 135 decamer primers and in an RFLP assay using 45 single-copy DNA probes. In

Pest categorisation of Stagonosporopsis andigena

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 16, Issue 10, October 2018., 2018
Abstract The Panel on Plant Health performed a pest categorisation of Stagonosporopsis andigena, the causal agent of black blight of potato, for the EU. The pest is a well‐defined fungal species and reliable methods exist for its detection and identification. S. andigena is present in Bolivia and Peru.

Taxonomy and Genetic Differentiation among Wild and Cultivated Germplasm of Solanum sect. Petota

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 8, Issue 1, March 2015., 2015
Because of their adaptation to a diverse set of habitats and stresses, wild species of cultivated crops offer new sources of genetic diversity for germplasm improvement. Using an Infinium array representing a genome‐wide set of 8303 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), phylogenetic relationships and allelic diversity were evaluated within a ...
