Predictability of the Solar Cycle Over One Cycle

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2018
Abstract The prediction of the strength of future solar cycles is of interest because of its practical significance for space weather and as a test of our theoretical understanding of the solar cycle. The Babcock–Leighton mechanism allows predictions by assimilating the observed magnetic field on the surface.

The Role of Ultra‐Thin Buffer Layers for Achieving Ultra‐Low Dark Currents in Single‐Component Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, SubNc single‐component organic photodiodes (SC‐OPDs) are investigated, which achieve highly competitive performance metrics, including high EQE, ultra‐low JD, and high specific detectivity (D*). This study emphasizes the critical role of an organic buffer layer in studying the interface energetics and effects to achieve state‐of‐the‐art ...

The Missing Solar Cycle Response of the Polar Summer Mesosphere

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2019
The response of the polar mesosphere to the 11‐year solar cycle is investigated using satellite observations from 1979 to 2018. Solar maximum is expected to cause higher temperatures and lower water vapor in the upper mesosphere, thus reducing the amount

Collective Study of Polar Crown Filaments in the Past Four Solar Cycles

open access: yes, 2018
Polar Crown Filaments (PCFs) form above the magnetic polarity inversion line, which separates the unipolar polar fields and the nearest dispersed fields from trailing part of active regions with opposite polarity.

Investigation of Halogen Substitution Effects in π‐Conjugated Organic Ligands of Chiral Hybrid Perovskites on Their Chiroptical Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The role of novel thiophene‐based ligands with halogen substitutions in enhancing the chiroptical and optoelectronic properties of 2D chiral HOIPs has been investigated. By tailoring ligand design, enhanced CD and CPL properties are achieved, with improved CPL discrimination in photodetectors.

Solar Latitudinal Distribution of Solar Flares around the Sun and Their Association with Forbush Decreases during the Period of 1986 to 2003 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2005
Solar flare events of high importance were utilised to study solar latitudinal frequency distribution of the solar flares in northern and southern hemisphere for the solar cycle 22 to recent solar cycle 23.

Multiple New or Updated Satellite Total Solar Irradiance (TSI) Composites (1978–2023)

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Several total solar irradiance (TSI) satellite missions have been carried out since 1978. None of these missions have lasted more than one to two solar cycles (SCs), and each mission implies a slightly different absolute TSI baseline.

Furan‐Substituted Phosphine‐Oxide as an Efficient Interfacial Modifier for Wide‐Bandgap Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report phosphine‐oxide interlayers for wide‐bandgap perovskite solar cells, in which tuned P = O Lewis basicity enables selective passivation of buried NiOx/perovskite interfaces and introduces interfacial dipoles that strengthen the built‐in field.

Time Variation of the Solar Tachocline

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We have used solar oscillation frequencies and frequency splittings obtained over solar cycles 23 and 24 and the rising phase of solar cycle 25 to investigate whether the tachocline properties (the change in the rotation rate across the tachocline. i.e.,

Solvent‐Free Manufacturing of Multifunctional Gas Diffusion Electrode Architectures for Enhanced CO2 Conversion From Low‐Concentration Streams

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A tandem gas diffusion electrode (GDE) leveraging hierarchically engineered microgranules enables efficient CO2 electroreduction under dilute CO2 conditions. A key innovation lies in the solvent‐free precision assembly of metal–organic‐frameworks, carbon nanotubes, and copper nanoparticles.
