Lead Halide Perovskite Photoelectrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Lead halide perovskite semiconductors have emerged as highly promising materials for solar fuel and chemical synthesis. This perspective discusses advances made in the rational photoelectrode design to improve solar‐to‐chemical conversion, product scope, and scalability.

Structure and Dynamics of Erupting Solar Prominences Using the Rolling Hough Transform: Toward a Feature-oriented Classification

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The classification of solar prominences has proven to be challenging, due to their diverse morphologies and dynamical behavior. Complexity is heightened when considering eruptive prominences, where the dynamics demand methods capable of capturing ...

Co-existence of two plasma phases in solar and AGN coronas [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Astronomical Journal, 1998
Here we have juxtaposed two distant cosmic locations of the Sun and AGN where neutral hydrogen appears in a close connection with hot coronas. Besides the solar photosphere, chromosphere and prominences where the presence of neutral hydrogen is ...

Bioinspired Adaptive Surfaces for Intelligent Liquid Manipulation: Progressing From Passive and Active to Hybrid Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines passive, active, and hybrid liquid manipulation strategies, highlighting hybrid approaches as an emerging route to reconcile energy efficiency with adaptive control. By actively reconstructing passive surfaces to store programmable interfacial energy, hybrid systems enable flexible yet low‐power liquid transport, with perspectives ...

A Unified Model of Solar Prominence Formation with Self-consistent Heating

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Several models have been proposed to explain the formation of solar prominences, among which the evaporation–condensation model and the direct injection model are the most popular ones.

Resolving Nanoscale Heterogeneities in Lead Halide Perovskites Through Low‐Dose Concurrent 4D‐STEM‐EDX Mapping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Mixed‐cation lead mixed‐halide perovskites suffer from structural instabilities linked to nanoscale heterogeneity. To probe this non‐destructively, a low‐dose, concurrent 4D‐STEM and EDX methodology has been developed. Examining a (FA0.83Cs0.17)Pb(I0.8Br0.2)3 film revealed a complex mosaic of coexisting crystal structures. Crucially, local deficiencies

A New Formation Mechanism of Counterstreaming Mass Flows in Filaments and the Doppler Bullseye Pattern in Prominences

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The eruption of a solar prominence can eject substantial mass and magnetic field into interplanetary space and cause geomagnetic storms. However, various questions about prominences and their eruption mechanism remain unclear.

Cu‐Pd Dual Single Atoms Promoting Selective CO2 Photoreduction to C2 Products in Seawater

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cu and Pd dual single atoms anchored on TiO2 cooperatively enhance C─C coupling during CO2 photoreduction in seawater. Under xenon‐light irradiation and without a sacrificial reagent/alkaline trapping agent, the catalyst achieves highly selective acetic acid formation.

Conditions for Solar Prominence Formation Triggered by Single Localized Heating

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We performed numerical simulations to study mechanisms of solar prominence formation triggered by a single heating event. In the widely accepted “chromospheric-evaporation condensation” model, localized heating at footpoints of a coronal loop drives ...

Polymeric Sorbents as Energy‐Efficient Alternative to Cryogenic Distillation for Light Hydrocarbon Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The transition from cryogenic distillation to polymeric sorbents for light hydrocarbon purification is crucial for energy and environmental sustainability. The polymeric sorbents are engineered to separate gas mixtures based on their specific properties.
