Nascent Extracellular Matrix Converts Biomaterial Cues into Cell Fate Decisions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a tri‐directional interplay among cells, hydrogels, and their nascent extracellular matrix. Hydrogel norbornene modification alters CD44‐mediated cell–hydrogel interactions, which shape nascent matrix deposition, composition, and spatial organization.

An Economic Risk Analysis of Tillage and Cropping Systems on the Arkansas Grand Prairie [PDF]

open access: yes
No-till (NT) has been shown to reduce fuel, labor, and machinery costs compared to conventional-till (CT) but very few rice producers in Arkansas practice NT.

Ultralow‐Energy Analog Reservoir Computing via Reconfigurable 2‐Transistor Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a reconfigurable reservoir‐computing platform based on an oxide InSnZnO two‐transistor cell in which a hold bias selects volatile relaxation for the reservoir or quasi‐non‐volatile multilevel storage for the readout. Multi‐level hold‐bias kernel tune relaxation currents to generate diverse time constants, enriching reservoir states ...

A Scalable Droplet Microfluidic Platform That Overcomes Large‐Cell Constraints for Long‐Term Plant Cell Culture and Embryogenesis Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a large‐cell‐compatible droplet microfluidic platform that overcomes long‐standing barriers in plant cell culture by enabling high‐fidelity encapsulation, novel multilayer 3D droplet incubation for scalable long‐term culture, and support for the full developmental progression of large plant cells.

Tillage Practices Effect on Root Distribution and Variation of Soil CO2 Emission under Different Cropping Strategies

open access: yes
Conservation soil management strategies, particularly no-tillage and cropping strategies, have become an effective and widely adopted practice that has a direct influence on root parameters and mitigation of greenhouse gasses.

Curvature‐Directed Elongation and Chiral Tilting Drive Asymmetric Tissue Patterning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Curvature and cell handedness together break tissue symmetry. On convex and concave surfaces, cells elongate along opposite geometric axes and tilt in a consistent chirality‐driven direction, yielding opposite alignment patterns from the same cells. Reversing intrinsic cell chirality reverses both.

WATER REQUIREMENT AND CROP COEFFICIENT OF MAIZE AND COWPEA IN SOLE AND INTERCROPPING SYSTEMS

open access: yes, 2015

Large Electrostrain and High Optical Transmittance via Oxygen Octahedron Rotation Disordering in KNN Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chemical disorder engineering reconfigures BO6 oxygen‐octahedron rotations in lead‐free K0.5Na0.5NbO3 ceramics from local ordering into a random distribution, dissolving the longstanding trade‐off between optical transparency and electromechanical strain.
