Coexisting commensurate and incommensurate charge ordered phases in CoO

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The subtle interplay of strong electronic correlations in a distorted crystal lattice often leads to the evolution of novel emergent functionalities in the strongly correlated materials (SCM).

Quantum Emulation of Extreme Non-equilibrium Phenomena with Trapped Atoms

open access: yes, 2017
Ultracold atomic physics experiments offer a nearly ideal context for the investigation of quantum systems far from equilibrium. We describe three related emerging directions of research into extreme non-equilibrium phenomena in atom traps: quantum ...

Unraveling the Molecular Mechanisms of Glioma Recurrence: A Study Integrating Single‐Cell and Spatial Transcriptomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Glioma recurrence severely impacts patient prognosis, with current treatments showing limited efficacy. Traditional methods struggle to analyze recurrence mechanisms due to challenges in assessing tumor heterogeneity, spatial dynamics, and gene networks.

Tunneling control and localization for Bose-Einstein condensates in a frequency modulated optical lattice

open access: yes, 2009
The similarity between matter waves in periodic potential and solid-state physics processes has triggered the interest in quantum simulation using Bose-Fermi ultracold gases in optical lattices. The present work evidences the similarity between electrons

Nonlinear waves in a chain of magnetically coupled pendula [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A motivation for the study of reduced models like one-dimensional systems in Solid State Physics is the complexity of the full problem. In recent years our group has studied theoretically, numerically and experimentally wave propagation in lattices of ...

Validity of a Wearable Digital Insole for Assessing Gait ON and OFF in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Gait impairment is a distinctive symptom of Parkinson's disease that negatively impact mobility. We assessed the validity of wearable digital insoles against a validated reference gait analysis system for measuring select gait characteristics in patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods A comparative analysis between digital insoles

Three real-space discretization techniques in electronic structure calculations

open access: yes, 2006
A characteristic feature of the state-of-the-art of real-space methods in electronic structure calculations is the diversity of the techniques used in the discretization of the relevant partial differential equations. In this context, the main approaches

Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, and Safety of Subcutaneous Belimumab in Pediatric Patients With Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: A Multicenter, Open‐Label Trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aimed to characterize the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, safety, and exploratory efficacy of subcutaneous belimumab in pediatric patients with active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) receiving standard therapy. Methods This single‐arm, multicenter, open‐label trial (GSK study 200908; ClinicalTrials.gov identifier ...

A new Majorana platform in an Fe-As bilayer superconductor

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Iron-pnictide superconductors share similar topological band structure with iron-chalcogenide superconductors, but no Majorana modes have been observed in the former.

Phase Diagram of Nickelate Superconductors Calculated by Dynamical Vertex Approximation

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
We review the electronic structure of nickelate superconductors with and without effects of electronic correlations. As a minimal model, we identify the one-band Hubbard model for the Ni 3dx2−y2 orbital plus a pocket around the A-momentum.
