Natural Killer Cells in Paediatric Soft Tissue Sarcomas: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Paediatric soft tissue sarcomas (pSTS) are a rare and heterogeneous group of malignant tumours arising in tissues of mesenchymal origin. The role of natural killer (NK) cells in pSTS remains poorly understood, with evidence fragmented across small preclinical studies and early‐phase clinical trials.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Recent Advance in the Sample Pretreatments for Drug Analysis in Zebrafish

open access: yesPharmaceuticals
Zebrafish, as an emerging model organism, are widely used in in vivo pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic studies. Unlike direct chemical analyses that require no sample preparation, most biological samples must undergo preprocessing steps—procedures that

Microsphere molecularly imprinted solid-phase extraction for diazepam analysis using itaconic acid as a monomer in propanol

open access: yesOpen Chemistry, 2021
Diazepam (DZP) is a benzodiazepine drug used as an anti-drug and sedative. It is often misused to induce or create euphoria in combination with other drugs (high or fly sensation) or administered alone.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Solid Phase Extraction and Determination of Tetracycline Using Gold Nanoparticles Stabilized in a Polymethacrylate Matrix

open access: yesMolecules
A polymethacrylate matrix (PMM) is proposed for the solid-phase extraction and determination of tetracycline (TC). The study of the influence of medium acidity, temperature, and contact time on the extraction of tetracycline by PMM showed that ...
