Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Acoustic phonon softening and reduced thermal conductivity in Mg2Si1-xSnx solid solutions

open access: yes, 2017
The measured thermal conductivity jph of Mg2Si1-xSnx solid solutions exhibits a dramatic decrease compared with Mg2Si and Mg2Sn. By solving the full Boltzmann equation, the significantly reduced jph was quantitatively reproduced by our calculations ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Chemical treatment of monocrystalline cadmium telluride and Cd1-xMnxTe solid solutions by H2O2 – HI – citratic acid etchant compositions

open access: yes, 2009

Blow-up behavior of collocation solutions to Hammerstein-type volterra integral equations

open access: yes, 2013
We analyze the blow-up behavior of one-parameter collocation solutions for Hammerstein-type Volterra integral equations (VIEs) whose solutions may blow up in finite time.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Magnetic and transport properties of cubic Fe1-xZnxO solid solutions with a rock salt structure synthesized at high pressure

open access: yes
Metastable cubic Fe1-xZnxO solid solutions (0 < x ≤ 0.5) with a rock salt structure (Fm-3m) have been synthesized by a solid-phase reaction between wurtzite ZnO and cubic FeO at 7.7 GPa and 1500 K.

A complementary study of perovskites : combining diffraction, solid-state NMR and first principles DFT calculations

open access: yes, 2011
Perovskites, ABX₃, and their associated solid-solutions are a particularly important and attractive area of research within materials chemistry. Owing to their structural and compositional flexibility and potential physical properties they are one of the

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.
