Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Research progress on formation and suppression of crack defects in oxide eutectic ceramics by laser additive manufacturing

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng
Oxide eutectic ceramics have excellent high specific strength, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, oxidation and creep resistance, and so on, which are considered to be the promising materials to be used in ultra-high temperature oxidation,

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Inferring the development of microsegregation and microstructure in Spheroidal and Compacted Graphite Iron using EPMA‐WDS

open access: yes, 2017
Microsegregation is closely related to the solidification characteristics and microstructure development of a material. In this paper, the microsegregation of Si, Cu, Mn, and P was investigated on a spheroidal and a compacted graphite iron using a ...

Validated thermodynamic prediction of AlP and eutectic (Si) solidification sequence in Al-Si cast alloys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The eutectic microstructure in hypoeutectic Al-Si cast alloys is strongly influenced by AlP particles which are potent nuclei for the eutectic (Si) phase. The solidification sequence of AlP and (Si) phases is, thus, crucial for the nucleation of eutectic

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Insight of the dendrite's deformation and fracture in large-sized single-crystal superalloy blades for the formation of slivers

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
The manufacturing of single-crystal superalloy blades consistently aims to avoid grain boundary defects that compromise crystal integrity. Although slivers represent a significant type of grain boundary defect, their formation mechanisms remain ...

Objects Interacting with Solidification Fronts: Thermal and Solute Effects

open access: yes, 2020
In many materials processing routes, objects such as bubbles or particles interact with a moving solidification front. The output of this confrontation, from instantaneous encapsulation to complete rejection of objects, regulates the solidified ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.
