Solubility Parameters of Amino Acids on Liquid–Liquid Phase Separation and Aggregation of Proteins

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2021
The solution properties of amino acids determine the folding, aggregation, and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS) behaviors of proteins. Various indices of amino acids, such as solubility, hydropathy, and conformational parameter, describe the ...

Intron‐oriented HTLV‐1 integration in an adult T‐cell leukemia/lymphoma cell line sustains expression of intact ift81 mRNA

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In the adult T‐cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) cell line ED, the human T‐cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV‐1) provirus was integrated into the intron of the ift81 gene in the antisense orientation. Despite this integration, both the intact ift81 and the viral oncogene hbz were simultaneously expressed, likely due to the functional insufficiency of viral ...

Cyclic nucleotide signaling as a drug target in retinitis pigmentosa

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Disruptions in cGMP and cAMP signaling can contribute to retinal dysfunction and photoreceptor loss in retinitis pigmentosa. This perspective examines the mechanisms and evaluates emerging evidence on targeting these pathways as a potential therapeutic strategy to slow or prevent retinal degeneration.

The Solubilities and the Solubility Parameter of Heptasulfur Imide [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1975
Abstract The solubilities of heptasulfur imide in eleven organic solvents were measured. The solubility parameter of heptasulfur imide was estimated to be 12.7 at 25 °C from the solubilities and the activity deduded from the enthalpy of the fusion; we assumed the solutions to be regular.
