Dynamic Fluorescence Modulation via Light‐Driven Competitive Protonation

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐component molecular system demonstrates reversible, light‐driven fluorescence write–erase cycling and thermal imaging. Illumination of a merocyanine photoacid transfers a proton to a highly efficient fluorescent pyridinium dye, switching its emission color; thermal relaxation reverses the process in the dark.

Light-controlled reconfigurable fiber bragg gratings written in attenuation fiber

open access: yes
A novel type of light controlled fiber Bragg gratings written in attenuation fiber is demonstrated. The spectral reconfiguration can be controlled by the pump power, the pumping configuration, the grating position and the fiber attenuation.

3D‐Printing Aided Rapid Prototyping of Pretensioned Tensegrity Structures for Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Printing, injection molding, and assembly (PMA) is a method for rapid prototyping mesoscale, topologically complex, and tensioned tensegrity structures. In combination with PMA method, two mold design strategies: modular mold and compact channel layout, enable efficiency and scalability for tensegrity fabrication.
