Water-soluble nanocomposite sodium alginate fibres
Fibers and Polymers, 2010An investigation was made of how the conditions of formation affect the porous structure, sorption properties and strength properties of nanocomposite sodium alginate fibres. It was found that the sorption properties of these fibres are determined by the hydrophilic nature of the material.

Enzymatic hydrolysis of starch in the presence of cereal soluble fibre polysaccharides
Food & Function, 2014The in vitro amylolysis of both granular and cooked maize starch and the diffusion of glucose in the presence of 1% and 2% cereal soluble fibre polysaccharides (arabinoxylan and mixed linkage beta-glucan) were studied at various levels of shear mixing in order to identify potential molecular mechanisms underlying observed glycemia-reducing effects of ...

Development of a soluble high-temperature insulation fibre
1997The three variables, dose, dimensions and durability, have been shown from many studies to be the factors that combine to give the potendal for a fibre to cause respiratory diseases. Considering durability, a fibre that could show increased dissoludon, possibly accompanied by chemical change, in physiological Solutions would be expected to show a ...

Soluble and insoluble dietary fibre in diabetic diets.
European journal of clinical nutrition, 1988The possibility of modulating postprandial metabolic responses in diabetics by an increase in the amount of soluble fibre rather than by the use of the high amounts of total dietary fibre (DF), so far strongly advocated, was investigated. Soluble and insoluble DF components of common foodstuffs were analysed and the data utilized to formulate three ...

Experimental data on in vitro fibre solubility.
IARC scientific publications, 1989Different types of natural and synthetic fibres have been subjected to systematic solubility tests in vitro in a physiological solution at 37 degrees C. Both closed-system and open-system experiments were carried out. Atomic absorption spectrometry of the filtered fluids showed characteristic differences of solubility.
