Endobody: Genetically Encodable Nanobody‐CPP Chimeras for Degradation of Membrane and Extracellular Proteins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduced genetically encodable, receptor‐independent nanobody‐CPP chimeras, termed endobodies, as robust and modular membrane protein degraders. Additionally, proteasome‐targeting domain (PTD)‐tethered endobody demonstrates further enhanced degradation potency.

Beyond Potency: Emerging Determinants and Optimization Strategies Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy of Adult Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Adult stem cell therapy requires more than high in vitro potency. This review proposes a systems framework in which cell‐intrinsic programs, instructive microenvironmental cues, and pre‐/post‐delivery engineering are co‐designed under standardized translational rules.

Porcine kidney xenotransplantation: From primate models to clinical reality

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
In the face of a critical shortage of human donor kidneys for end‐stage renal disease patients, porcine kidney xenotransplantation has emerged as a viable solution. This field has navigated major hurdles, including immune rejection, physiological incompatibilities, potential biomechanical differences and the risk of cross‐species infection. To overcome

The expansion of MDSCs induced by exosomal PD-L1 promotes the progression of gastric cancer

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine
Background Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) are the major factor in gastric cancer (GC) immune evasion. Nevertheless, the molecular process underlying the expansion of MDSCs induced by tumor-derived exosomes (TDEs) remains elusive.

Stem cell–based therapies for type 1 diabetes: Progress in differentiation, clinical translation, and immune protection

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Directed differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into functional pancreatic β cells have emerged as a promising strategy for the radical treatment of type 1 diabetes, with preclinical and early clinical evidence demonstrating reversal of hyperglycemia and insulin independence.

PRODUCTION OF MEMBRANE AND SOLUBLE PD-L1 BY LUNG TUMOR CELLS

open access: yes, 2018
Programmed Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1) was first described as a membrane molecule expressed by antigen presenting cells to regulate T lymphocyte immune response through the engagement of its receptor PD-1 [1]. The observation that many tumors express PD-L1 to

Analytical performance of a new automated chemiluminescent magnetic immunoassays for soluble PD-1, PD-L1, and CTLA-4 in human plasma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Current clinically approved biomarkers for the PD-1 blockade cancer immunotherapy are based entirely on the properties of tumour cells. With increasing awareness of clinical responses, more precise biomarkers for the efficacy are required based on immune

Human Fibroblast‐Myeloid cell tissue atlas across lung, synovium, skin and heart

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Background The availability of single‐cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq data) in different tissues and disease states provides an opportunity to compare cellular subsets and identify common and unique cellular activation. In this study, we aimed to characterize shared and tissue‐specific myeloid and stromal phenotypes and to uncover key cellular subtypes ...
