Shedding Light on Synthetic Autocatalysis: From Conventional Closed‐Shell Chemistries to Overlooked Open‐Shell Occurrences

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Why add another catalyst when the product itself holds the power to catalyze its own formation? Autocatalysis in synthetic chemistry enhances reaction efficiency and uncovers novel catalytic behavior across both closed‐shell and open‐shell systems, expanding reactivity and enabling innovative design strategies.

Distribution and forms of iron in the vertisols of Serbia [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2011
Soil of arable land and meadows from the Ap horizon, taken from ten different localities, were investigated for different forms of Fe, including total (HF), pseudo-total (HNO3), 0.1 M HCl extractable and DTPA (diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid ...

Efflorescence of Alkali-Activated Cements (Geopolymers) and the Impacts on Material Structures: A Critical Analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2019
Even with the rapid development of the alkali-activated cement (AAC) technology in the past few years, some phenomena still needs to be better understood, that may alter the durability of the material.

Two‐Step Synthesis of a Chiral Fluorinated Alcohol With Silica‐Supported Enzyme RrADH in Batch and Continuous Flow Mode

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A two‐step process was transferred from batch to flow mode for the synthesis of (R)‐2‐fluoro‐1‐phenylethanol as a benchmark, consisting of a decarboxylative fluorination in aqueous media, followed by an enantioselective biocatalytic reduction of the prochiral intermediate with RrADH immobilized on silica supraparticles.

Silent Partners in the Mill: Unveiling the Role of Additives in Mechanochemical Synthesis

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Mechanochemistry offers a sustainable, solvent‐free alternative to traditional synthesis, often enhanced by additives in a process known as additive‐assisted grinding. This review discusses how various additives, including liquids, ionic solids, and advanced materials like ionic liquids and piezoelectric compounds, improve reaction efficiency ...

Improvement in Solubility of Potassium Silicate Fertilizer.

open access: yesNIPPON KAGAKU KAISHI, 1993

Chemo‐Enzymatic Route for Covalent Cellulose Fiber Dyeing

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
This work presents a proof of concept for a chemo‐enzymatic approach to the covalent dyeing of cotton fibers. Laccase/TEMPO oxidation introduces aldehyde groups, enabling subsequent reductive amination with amino dyes. Excellent color homogeneity and wash fastness were demonstrated using acid red 33, highlighting the robustness of the approach and its ...

Selective Optical Properties of Cement for Enhanced Radiative Cooling and Energy‐Efficient Construction Materials

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Cement phases are good materials for radiative cooling thanks to the selective emissivity in IR ATW. Cement powders have high reflectance of solar radiation which reduces the thermal losses. The onset of the absorption curves is defined by bound excitons. Sulfates have higher radiated powers and reflectance than calcium silicates.
