Effect of adding technologically processed antibodies to interferon-gamma into a parent solution on the structural features of triglycine sulfate crystals grown from this solution

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии
Objectives. Ferroelectric triglycine sulfate (TGS) belongs to a group of crystals whose properties are sensitive even to minor changes in growth conditions.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Hydrothermal Crystal Growth of Piezoelectric α-Quartz Phase of AO2 (A = Ge, Si) and MXO4 (M = Al, Ga, Fe and X = P, As): A Historical Overview

open access: yesCrystals, 2017
Quartz is the most frequently used piezoelectric material. Single crystals are industrially grown by the hydrothermal route under super-critical conditions (150 MPa-623 K).

Synthesis, growth, structural, optical and electrical properties of novel organic single crystal: p-toluidinium salicylate [PDF]

open access: yesModern Electronic Materials, 2018
A novel organic single crystal of p-toluidinium salicylate (PTSA) was grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique. The structure of grown crystal was determined from the single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The functional groups existing in

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Suppression of the surface roughness by adjusting the temperature distribution in the top-seeded solution growth of SiC crystal

open access: yesJournal of Materiomics
Spontaneous nucleation of SiC particles and giant macroscopic steps result in the surface roughness of the grown crystal for the top-seeded solution growth of SiC crystal. To suppress the surface roughness, the temperature gradient was carefully adjusted

Encapsulation of nanoparticles into single-crystal ZnO nanorods and microrods

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2014
One-dimensional single crystal incorporating functional nanoparticles of other materials could be an interesting platform for various applications. We studied the encapsulation of nanoparticles into single-crystal ZnO nanorods by exploiting the crystal ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Time-periodic solution for a fourth-order parabolic equation describing crystal surface growth

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2013
In this paper, by using the Galerkin method, the existence and uniqueness of time-periodic generalized solutions to a fourth-order parabolic equation describing crystal surface growth are proved.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.
