A Constellation of Fluorescent Biosensors to Illuminate the Galaxy of Protein Kinases
Protein kinases (PKs) are enzymes that catalyze phosphorylation of protein substrates involved in a wide variety of biological signalling pathways. This review describes the different families and mechanisms of action and regulation of protein kinases, together with the different classes of fluorescent biosensors that have been engineered and ...

A pair of π‐extended chiral triangular prisms based on pyromellitic diimide is synthesized from enantiopure macrocyclic precursors. They exhibit orange fluorescence and solvent‐dependent self‐assembly, enabling chiroptical inversion and amplification with |glum| values up to 1.15 × 10−2. Single‐crystal structures reveal solvent‐controlled conformations

Preferential Solvation in Alkan-1-ol/Alkylbenzoate Binary Mixtures by Solvatochromic Probes
The binary mixtures of methanol with (C1–C4) alkylbenzoates and of (C1, C3, C5, C7, C9, C11) alkan-1-ols with methylbenzoate were used as solvents to look into the preferential solvation and intermolecular interactions of the solvatochromic indicators 2 ...

SYNTHESIS AND SOLVATOCHROMIC BEHAVIOUR OF SOME HETEROCYCLYIC ISONICOTINOHYDRAZIDE SCHIFF BASES
The solvatochromic behaviour of three heterocyclic Schiff bases derived from isonicotinic acid hydrazide (INH) and pyrrole-2-carboxaldehyde (L1), furan-2-carboxaldehyde (L2) and thiophene-2-carboxaldehyde (L3) was studied in nine solvents of different ...

Evaluation of Photophysical Properties and Biological Applications of Diarylmethanes
The wide applications of diarylmethanes were investigated through various experimental and computational approaches. The solvent environment influences the electronic properties of diarylmethanes and hence their drug‐like properties. Interactions with PARP1 revealed stable binding supporting anticancer potential.

The effect of structural QSAR parameters on skin penetration
The permeability coefficients (log kp) of solutes through stratum corneum have been previously related to the octanol-water partition coefficients (log Poct) and solvatochromic parameters.

This is the first study on novel furochromene derivatives. A series of novel furochromen derivatives, namely (2E)‐1‐(6‐hydroxy‐4,7‐dimethoxy‐1‐benzofuran‐5‐yl)‐3‐arylprop‐2‐en‐1‐ones 4a–c, were synthesized via the Knoevenagel condensation of 6‐hydroxy‐4,7‐dimethoxybenzofuran‐5‐ylethanone 2 with various aromatic aldehydes.
