Donor–Acceptor Pentacene Analogues With Near‐Infrared Emission and Tunable Aromaticity

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Air‐ and photostable heterocyclic pentacene analogues with donor and acceptor groups flanking a para‐quinodimethane core exhibit large dipole moments, narrow bandgaps, reversible redox behavior, and NIR‐I to NIR‐II absorption and emission with pronounced solvatochromism.

Highly Efficient Mechanochromic Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence in the Deep Red to Near‐Infrared in Copper(I) [2.2]Isoindolinophanyl‐Carbene Carbazolates

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Electrophilic [2.2]isoindolinophanyl‐based carbene iPC has been employed as charge‐transfer acceptor ligand in a series of [Cu(iPC)(carbazolate)], which show mechanochromism and environment‐dependent luminescence due to intermolecular C─‐H‐π interactions.

Solvatochromism and electrophilicity

open access: yesChemical Physics Letters, 2011
Abstract Solvatochromic dyes that exhibit a negative or a positive behaviour may be distinguished and their solvatochromism predicted with the aid of DFT-based indices, such as their electrophilicity ω , hardness η and by the Fukui electrophilic functions f G + of the donor and acceptor moieties of the molecule, calculated in the ...

How good is the generalized Langevin equation to describe the dynamics of photo-induced electron transfer in fluid solution?

open access: yes, 2017
The dynamics of unimolecular photo-triggered reactions can be strongly affected by the surrounding medium. An accurate description of these reactions requires knowing the free energy surface (FES) and the friction felt by the reactants.
