Solvent effects in liquid-phase dehydration reaction of ethanol to diethylether catalysed by sulfonic-acid catalyst

open access: yes, 2011
International audienceThe liquid-phase dehydration of ethanol to diethylether over heterogeneous sulfonic-acid catalysts was carried out in a stirred batch reactor. The different Amberlyst catalysts were found to have similar activities for this reaction;

Modular Control of PEG‐Poly(2‐Oxazoline) Co‐Assembly Enables Tunable Aggregate Properties for Intraocular Pressure Management

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A thermo‐responsive poly(2‐oxazoline)‐based injectable formulation is developed to modulate intraocular pressure (IOP) in both normal and hypotonic eyes. By adjusting the PEG content, the aggregation behavior is finely tuned, enabling IOP elevation without long‐term deposition.

The Dehydration of Aprotic Solvents by Pervaporation

open access: yes, 2008
The application of pervaporation to the dehydration of aprotic solvents was investigated in this study. The performance of a commercial membrane, Celfa CMC-VP-31, was evaluated for the dehydration of tetrahydrofuran (THF) and dimethylformamide (DMF). The

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

Packed for Ossification: High‐Density Bioprinting of hPDC Spheroids in HAMA Toward Endochondral Ossification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Human periosteum‐derived cell spheroids bioprinted at high density within a hyaluronic acid matrix promote fusion and hypertrophic cartilage formation in vitro. Early encapsulation enhances spheroid interaction and matrix maturation, generating scalable cartilage templates intended for endochondral bone regeneration.

Photothermal‐Activated Antibacterial Amyloid‐Polyphenol‐Iron Hydrogels for Synergistic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We report a thermally triggered supramolecular hydrogel (LTFe) formed by Fe3+ and tannic acid on lysozyme amyloid fibrils. Fe3+ enables rapid gelation and photothermal transduction with an efficiency of 88.56%. The LTFe hydrogel exhibits excellent biocompatibility, potent antibacterial activity against E. coli and S.

Investigating the mechanisms of desiccation tolerance in the resurrection plant, myrothamnus flabellifolius (WELW)

open access: yes, 1999
Biliography : leaves 162-184.Resurrection plants, including Myrothamnus flabellifolius, grow in shallow soil upon rocky outcrops where they experience regular periods of water stress. Associated with this is light stress.

Mechanical modification and ultrasound-assisted osmotic dehydration for mass transfer intensification during blueberry convective drying

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry
This study investigated the use of mechanical modification (MM) and ultrasound-assisted osmotic dehydration (OD + US) as process-intensification strategies before convective drying of blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum L.).

Self‐Assembled Skin Equivalents with Monoclonal CRISPR/Cas9‐Modified N/TERT‐1 Keratinocytes: A Cutting‐Edge model for Human Skin and its Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled, scaffold‐free full‐thickness skin equivalents with monoclonal, genetically modified N/TERT‐1 keratinocytes represent a novel in vitro model of human skin and skin diseases. The model is highly robust, reproducible, physiologically relevant, and suitable for high‐throughput applications.
