Pseudopolymorphs of LB30870, a Direct Thrombin Inhibitor: One-Dimensional Solvent Channel Structures Explain Reversible Hydration/Dehydration

open access: yes, 2017
Three different hydrates of LB30870, a new direct thrombin inhibitor, were identified during the screening of solid form, and their interconversion relationship and relative thermodynamic stabilities were investigated.

Heat Effects of Dehydration of Human Serum Albumin in Hydrophilic Organic Solvents

open access: yesEngineering in Life Sciences, 2009
AbstractA thermochemical model for describing the transfer of water from the protein phase to the organic solvent liquid phase and for determining how the solvation ability of organic solvents affects this process was developed. Enthalpy changes on the interaction of dried and hydrated human serum albumin (HSA) with hydrophilic organic solvents ...

Transparent and Robust LiCl–Organohydrogel Triboelectric Nanogenerator With Deep Learning Assisted Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Develop a LiCl–PEI–PAM hydrogel with 3000% stretchability and excellent optical transparency. Through comparative studies of various salts, confirm that LiCl is the most suitable salt for high TENG output. Achieve excellent freeze‐resistant, dry‐resistant, and rapid self‐healing (10 s) properties even in extreme environments. Balance ionic conductivity,

An Unexpected Formation of Spiro Isoxazoline-Dihydrofurane Compounds from Substituted Ketofurfuryl Alcohols

open access: yesMolecules
Oximation of substituted ketofurfuryl alcohols in the presence of hydroxylamine hydrochloride and pyridine in ethanol as solvent led to a new class of spiro derivatives presenting a 7-methylene-1,6-dioxa-2-azaspiro [4.4] nona-2,8-diene skeleton along ...

Controlled Engineering of 2D Alkali‐Iron‐Chloride Compounds and Lateral Quantum Heterostructures Within Confined Graphene Nanoreactors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a programmable atomic engineering strategy for 2D materials using Å‐scale nanoreactors formed by bilayer graphene (BLG) intercalation. A new class of alkali‐iron‐chloride compounds, along with lateral heterostructures composed of monolayer alkali halides and iron chlorides, is revealed.

Coagulative Granular Hydrogels with an Enzyme Catalyzed Fibrin Network for Endogenous Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Coagulative granular hydrogels are composed of packed thrombin‐functionalized microgels that catalyze the conversion of fibrinogen into a secondary fibrin network, filling the interstitial voids. This bio‐inspired approach stabilizes the biomaterial to match the robustness of bulk hydrogels without compromising injectability, mimicking the initial ...

A novel integrated simulation approach for natural gas sweetening and dehydration: H2S, CO2, and H2O removal with energy optimization using Aspen HYSYS

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Natural gas has emerged as the predominant energy source globally. However, raw natural gas typically contains impurities such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S), carbon dioxide (CO2), and water (H2O), necessitating treatment prior to pipeline delivery. This work
