Metode Ekstraksi Pelarut Berbantuan Ultrasonik Untuk Recovery Minyak Dari Limbah Cair Pabrik Kelapa Sawit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this study, application of ultrasound-assisted solvent extraction for recovery of oil from palm oil mill effluent (POME)was studied. Extraction conditions such as volume ratio of POME to solvent, extraction time and type of solvent were investigated ...

The thioredoxin‐like and one glutaredoxin domain are required to rescue the iron‐starvation phenotype of HeLa GLRX3 knock out cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Glutaredoxin (Grx) 3 proteins contain a thioredoxin domain and one to three class II Grx domains. These proteins play a crucial role in iron homeostasis in eukaryotic cells. In human Grx3, at least one of the two Grx domains, together with the thioredoxin domain, is essential for its function in iron metabolism.

Design and adjustment of coupled microalgae oil extraction methods for the development of a topology of biorefinery

open access: yesProspectiva, 2015
Microalgae have the potential to produce a big amount of biodiesel per area unit owing to its high lipid content. However, for a sustainable biodiesel production from microalgae, the concept of biorefinery must be taken into account; this concept can be ...

Optimizing the process of supercritical extraction of lemon balm (Melissa Officinalis L.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This work investigates the process of extraction of lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.) by treatment with carbon dioxide at supercritical conditions. The process kinetics is studied at different operational conditions, and the influence of some important

Lycopene-rich fractions derived from pink guava by-product and their potential activity towards hydrogen peroxide-induced cellular and DNA damage. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Effects of solvent and supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) extraction on antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of lycopene-rich fractions of decanted pink guava by-product (decanter) were determined with lycopene-equivalent antioxidant capacity, β ...

Evolutionary interplay between viruses and R‐loops

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses interact with specialized nucleic acid structures called R‐loops to influence host transcription, epigenetic states, latency, and immune evasion. This Perspective examines the roles of R‐loops in viral replication, integration, and silencing, and how viruses co‐opt or avoid these structures.

Optimisation of Microwave-Assisted Extraction of Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) Seed Oil and Evaluation of Its Physicochemical and Bioactive Properties

open access: yesFood Technology and Biotechnology, 2017
Pomegranate seed oil was extracted in a closed-vessel high-pressure microwave system. The characteristics of the obtained oil, such as fatty acid composition, free fatty acidity, total phenolic content, antioxidant activity and colour, were compared to ...

Disruption of SETD3‐mediated histidine‐73 methylation by the BWCFF‐associated β‐actin G74S mutation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The β‐actin G74S mutation causes altered interaction of actin with SETD3, reducing histidine‐73 methylation efficiency and forming two distinct actin variants. The variable ratio of these variants across cell types and developmental stages contributes to tissue‐specific phenotypical changes. This imbalance may impair actin dynamics and mechanosensitive
