Generation of novel high quality HMW-GS genes in two introgression lines of Triticum aestivum/Agropyron elongatum

open access: yesBMC Evolutionary Biology, 2007
Background High molecular weight glutenin subunits (HMW-GS) have been proved to be mostly correlated with the processing quality of common wheat (Triticum aestivum). But wheat cultivars have limited number of high quality HMW-GS.

Comparison of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Energy Absorbers Under Uniaxial Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates LCD 3D printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures as mechanical energy absorbers. By comparing various base designs and layered combinations under uniaxial compression, it identifies that a Diamond‐Gyroid sandwich structure offers superior performance.

DigiChrom: A Domain Ontology for Semantic Representation of Trivalent Chromium Platings and Its Large Language Model‐Based Alignment With Multiple Mid‐Level Ontologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Digitalizing electroplating requires both domain knowledge and interoperability. This work introduces PlatOn, a domain ontology for trivalent chromium plating and coating characterization, and a hybrid pipeline that aligns it to a mid‐level reference ontology by combining eight similarity metrics with language model reasoning. Expert‐validated mappings

Integration of OpenCV‐Based Microscopic Adhesive Volume Measurement Into a Pyiron Workflow for Automated Data Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Residual adhesive after electrode loading in adhesive‐assisted resistance spot welding is quantified through a traceable experimental‐to‐digital workflow. Chromatic confocal topography provides calibrated surface‐height data, while OpenCV detects the electrode imprint and integrates adhesive height into comparable volume metrics.

A molecular cytogenetic perspective on chromosome biology and crop improvement

open access: yesThe Plant Genome
The age of molecular cytogenetic analysis of crop plants dawned in the late 1960s and early 1970s with new advances in the identification of somatic chromosomes by C‐banding and fluorescence in situ hybridization concurrent with advances in DNA cloning ...

Architecture‐Driven Sensor Stability in Weft‐Knitted Engineering Textiles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Textile‐integrated sensor architectures are systematically compared to evaluate their electromechanical behavior under combined mechanical and environmental loading. Pocket‐based integration exhibits stable and reproducible signals, whereas tunnel‐based routing shows higher sensitivity accompanied by increased variability.

Fluorescence in situ hybridization of potato somatohaploids and their somatic hybrid donors using two Solanum brevidens specific sequences

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 1998
Two Solanum brevidens specific repetitive DNA clones (pSB1 and pSB7) were used simultaneously as probes in fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) for cytological studies of somatohaploids and their somatic hybrid donors.

Entropy‐Driven Design of Low‐Melting‐Point Alloys via Compositionally Complex Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional low‐melting‐point alloys (LMPAs) are limited by a narrow compositional space and inherent property trade‐offs. This review presents an entropy‐driven design strategy that overcomes these limitations, ushering in a new class of low‐melting‐point compositionally complex alloys (LMCCAs).
