Interspecific and Intergeneric Crosses for Clubroot Resistance in Brassica Crops

open access: yesAgronomy
Clubroot disease, caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae, is a major global threat, causing severe yield losses of up to 100% in heavily infested fields.

Somatic hybridization between Lycopersicon esculentum and Solanum tuberosum

open access: yes, 1993
This thesis describes an analysis of the possibilities and limitations of asymmetric somatic hybridization between tomato and potato. For this, nitrate reductase-deficient tomato mutants were isolated and characterized.

Production of somatic hybrids by electrofusion in Solanum

open access: yes, 1988
Conditions are described for large scale electrofusion of mesophyll protoplasts of dihaploid S. tuberosum with those of diploid S. brevidens. Overall fusion frequencies of 20%–30% were achieved, and following fusion, large numbers of protoplast-derived ...

Functionalizing Micro‐to‐Mesoscopic Electrode Architectures for Regulating Electron Transfer Behaviors in Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Engineered Nanotopography to Modulate Growth and Signaling of Neuronal Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the interaction between neurons and nanoscale topographies on engineered substrates. Neurons cultured on nanowires, nanopillars and nanoneedles exhibit enhanced neurite outgrowth, form more organized neuronal circuits, and display improved synaptic connectivity, compared to flat substrates.

Evidence for somatic translocation during potato dihaploid induction

open access: yes, 1995
Potato dihaploid PDH55 (Solatium tuberosum) is exclusively euploid (2n = 24) but apparently contains and expresses DNA from dihaploid inducer IVP48 (S. phureja).
