Statistical evaluation of four-parameter moisture sorption isotherm models [PDF]

open access: yesJournal on Processing and Energy in Agriculture, 2020
In the scientific and engineering literature, there are various mathematical methods for modelling the equilibrium moisture content of agricultural and food materials. The objective of the present study was to statistically evaluate a total of thirty-two

Sorption Isotherms and Thermodynamic Properties of Pomegranate Peels

open access: yesFoods, 2022
Convective drying is the most widely used technique to stabilize by-products in the food industry, permitting later processing. A thorough knowledge of the relationship between moisture content and water activity allows the optimization of not only drying operations, but the settings of storage conditions.

Sorption capacity of Indian coal and its variation with rank parameters

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2019
The study of gas sorption characteristics is important for practical assessment of coal bed methane (CBM) production and CO2 sequestration in coal seam. Adsorption isotherm is one of the critical parameters for the establishment of production as well as ...

Sorption of organochlorine pesticides on polyethylene microplastics in soil suspension

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety, 2021
As a new type of environmental pollutant, microplastics (MPs) can adsorb residual organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in the soil and pose a severe threat to the soil ecosystems.

Sorption isotherm characteristics of aonla flakes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Food Science and Technology, 2011
The equilibrium moisture content was determined for un-osmosed and osmosed (salt osmosed and sugar osmosed) aonla flakes using the static method at temperatures of 25, 40,50, 60 and 70 °C over a range of relative humidities from 20 to 90%. The sorption capacity of aonla decreased with an increase in temperature at constant water activity.

The sorption isotherms of potassium

open access: yesCommunications in Soil Science and Plant Analysis, 1994
Abstract The one‐ and two‐surface Langmuir, the Freundlich and the Temkin isotherms were fitted to potassium sorption data for Alfisol Haploxeralf at pH range of 4.0 to 8.0. Each was found to describe potassium sorption data with comparable success, with the Freundlich model being slightly superior.
